There is a good reason why Div VI is going so well. When the Hogg was set up initially there was only the six divisions (Premier and I to V). Those were pretty much seeded. Division V was meant to be mainly newbies, Division IV is the Piglet, rated higher than V because there are three Premier league sides and two Divvy I one sides in it. Division III has a few former Div I one sides as well as some players who have had some success in DT. Premier to Div II were always going to be tough leagues.
Division VI was created when people looked at the calendar and went **** SUPERCOACH FIND ME A LEAGUE. So it is a bit of a latecomers league with a lot of reasonable to good teams in it. The biggest non performer so far is probably Division III which shouldn't be rated so low but the first five ranked leagues in the Hogg this year are all ranked ahead of Hogg Division I in 2009. And that is the aim of the divisional structure.
Next year I'll have a better idea of where to rank coaches next year as I am keeping records of total points scored but for the upper grades (i.e. above IV) it is strictly a promotion/relegation system in place. Next year's Division IV won't be the Piglet (that will probably be Division VI next year) but will be the best 16 teams in order of total points scored out of the Division V and Division VI sides. The next 16 will go into Division V. If any of the higher divvys have coaches that drop out of the comp promotions will be offered in order of points.
Clear as mud!
