Yeah, my advantage over Leisa not having Ablett is gone too!!! Bugger.

It looks like she still has a donut anyway. I am hoping me having a full team will be enough to chalk up my first win!

The full team wasn't enough :(

This time last year I was flying. Now I have a team full of under-performers due to blunders in my starting team. 0-3!!!

ROUND 3

Results
Leisa's Lovelies 2,018 def 2,013 Hondominators YSCC
Supre Cil Dluohs 1,793 def by 2,253 Captain Who?
cobras 1,593 def by 1,965 The Dark Knights
Mosquitoes 2,381 def 2,100 The Browns
Blue Boy 1,882 def 1,610 PicklesPA
Matty's Knights 1,893 def by 2,087 wycbloods
Dutchys Dodos 2,097 def 1,868 LKIF
Woodys Dropkick 2,170 def 2,096 CoverKing's Army

wycbloods is the new Hogg Division I leader after a comprehensive victory over Matty's Knights. The news was not so good for CoverKing who lost his match against Woodys Dropkick but perhaps the most significant result was the heavy loss suffered by the Supre who were flogged by Captain Who? Groover has boogied all the way to second spot and the heavy hitters are starting to identify themselves.

Blue Boy, the Dodos and the Lovelies all opened their account this week to move out of the relegation zone with Dale's cobras and PicklesPA being the most likely to go down. Hondo went into the bottom four despite scoring points, he's batting well but keeps getting out. The Mosquitos are back in town in a big way with a score of 2381 and look a likely finalist. Not a great league to try and come from behind in so early wins are crucial.

SCD ... how in hell did you drop 600 points in one week!?

AND ... why didn't you score 1790 last week when I played you?

AND ... why do I have to come up against a non-Ablett team with a nice, full midfield the week Ablett is out?

Damn Supercoach!

A big battle this week when i take on CoverKing. Bragging rights in the family are up for grabs.

All these blokes who scored well last week were terrible this week...
H O'Brien / A Didak / C Yarran / B Nason / B Hall all struggled...
A Cooney and J Drummond were down and no G Ablett playing as Captain hurt me

I got burnt with Dangerfield / Martin / Ablett all being out this week, and decided to play Jetta and Buchannan who scored poorly, rather then burn a trade...
Bring on next week I say!!

Division I Round 4

Leisa's Lovelies vs cobras
Supre Cil Dluohs vs Mosquitoes
Captain Who? vs The Browns
Hondominators YSCC vs The Dark Knights
Blue Boy vs Dutchys Dodos
Matty's Knights vs Woodys Dropkick
wycbloods vs CoverKing's Army
PicklesPA vs LKIF

Yes, it's the battle of the Brothers as top ranked wycbloods takes on CoverKing's Army who stumbled without Ablett against Woody's Dropkicks last week. The sledging is probably going thick and fast between the bros this week and a crucial clash it is because there is probably only room for one of them in Hogg Premier next year. I reckon CoverKing do Woody and Captain Who a favour and salute.

Woody has a tough match himself this week against Matty's Knights who did well enought to beat Captain Who and Woody last year in Divvy III but got found out a bit last week. Woody is a gun coach and should be able to get some form of revenge against the Matts. Captain Who continued on their merry way last week and should Brown off the Browns this week to take over top spot should wycbloods stumble.

The Dluohs were disappointing last week and will find the going no easier this week when they play the Mozzies. As for Leisa's Lovelies, LKIF and Dutchy's Dodos - they appear to have caught a break and could all earn themselves crucial victories this week. A win is more than crucial for Hondo though - if he doesn't salute against the Dark Knights then he will be spending the rest of the year fighting to avoid relegation rather than earning a promotion to Premier League. The Dark Knights could do themselves a massive favour by putting a key rival out of business only four weeks into the comp.

I've still got some problems from my starting team getting sorted out slowly so I am going to have to try to sneak into 8th and roll the other teams in the finals with my refreshed gun side 8) I can't fix everything at once and, if I try to, I'll have no trades left at the end and crash out anyway.

I don't think 0-4 is an insurmountable hurdle but I'd rather not have to try.

Funny, we both find ourselves in the same postition, and I echo your sentiments about 'slowly' upgrading the team. 0-4 is definitely not insurmountable.

Both our teams looked great on paper before Round 1, and even before our head to head games we were scoring well, but hell, the wheels really fell off with injuries and a raft of underperforming premiums.

The problem I'm finding now is that I have players that are in everyone's sights as upgrade targets (Goodes, Mitchell, Hargrave etc) because they are premiums who have underperformed and dropped big in price. Who the hell am I suppose to upgrade to?!

Trading is where we can bridge the gap Quichey. I am confident that my team for round 10 will be strong and there's no way I am going into finals with no trades left.

Happy to add my 2 cents worth to any trade ideas you raise in the trades threads.

And on further terrific news for my team I have to rely once again on Jackson Trengove in ruck since Clark has been ruled out :(

Last time he was on my field Trengove added 10 points to my weekly score

I just need Goddard to score 100 less then Yarran and i'll have a win this week :D
I'll decide later today whether I go tonight, but would it be wrong to go along to the footy to support a player and not a team? :? :?

ROUND 4

Results
Leisa's Lovelies 2,023 def 1,769 cobras
Supre Cil Dluohs 2,311 def 2,249 Mosquitoes
Captain Who? 2,439 def 1,993 The Browns
Hondominators YSCC 2,184 def by 2,260 The Dark Knights
Blue Boy 2,301 def 2,089 Dutchys Dodos

wycbloods 2,182 def by 2,422 CoverKing's Army
PicklesPA 1,611 def by 1,864 LKIF

Captain Who stands alone as the only undefeated side in Division I after the fourth round of matches. Groover fired up fine style cleaning up the Browns by a massive 446 points. Matty's Knights upset Woody and CoverKing lived up to his pre-match bragging by knocking wycbloods off the top of the ladder.

SCD returned to form in emphatic fashion by swatting the Mosquitos and Blue Boy played like the former Premier League coach he is with a thrashing of Dutchys Dodos. The Dark Knights continued Hondo's early season misery and LKIF and the Lovelies both claimed important victories.

Division I Round 5

Leisa's Lovelies vs  Mosquitoes
Supre Cil Dluohs vs  cobras
Captain Who? vs  The Dark Knights
Hondominators YSCC vs  The Browns
Blue Boy vs  Woodys Dropkick
Matty's Knights vs  Dutchys Dodos
wycbloods vs  LKIF
PicklesPA vs  CoverKing's Army

The Dark Knights suddenly find themselves in the spotlight this week as they attempt to end the unbeaten run of Groover's seemingly top flight bound monster Capatain Who? The Darks have been flying under the radar all year but this week it all ends as I reckon they'll come a cropper in the Div I match of the round.

Like the Piglet, there appear to be a lot of lopsided matches this week. CoverKing will slaughter Pickles PA and Woody, wycbloods, SCD and the Mozzies should also record easy victories. For Hondo it's pretty much last chance time - if he can't defeat the Browns he will go 0-5 and it's thanks for coming and 'PUT ME BACK IN DIV II'.
