Meanwhile, I'll call it early ... REB is home.

I make it that Boak has to outscore Mumford by 66 points for Squeakaroos to win.

Hondo wrote:Damn Petrie stunk it up with 36 while Ginger copped the unlucky break with Pavlich's injury and Broughton had a poor game. Cloke went great for Ginger with 131.

So it's down to this:

(me / Ginger + 9 points)

Maloney v Griffin
McEvoy v Boyd
O'Keefe v Boak
N Riewoldt v J Riewoldt

too close to call!

Praying that my 3 Bulldogs with rack up the stats tomorrow against Port. Might regret leaving J Riewoldt and leaving Mzungu on the bench, but I've got a feeling he'll have a good one against Melbourne tomorrow. Anyone's game!

Hang on I've done something wrong in my analysis ... I have Boyd too.

It's (me) McEvoy / O'Keefe / Maloney / N Riewoldt v (Ginger) + 9 / Murphy / Griffin / Boak / J Riewoldt

... still too close to call!

You bewdy. Shouldn't lose from here unless Mumford falls over. Boak needs to beat Mumford by 50 so he'd need to pull out a really big one seeing as Mummy averages 100. Squeaky had Petrie and Pavlich. Job not done yet however.

SEMI FINALS RESULTS

REBCats 2315 d. Squeakeroos 2173
The Ginger Ninjas 2283 d. Hondominators YSCC 2235

In the Hogg Premier League semi finals we had two top four sides going out in straight sets as the REBCats and The Ginger Ninjas continued on their giantkilling way. The Ninjas had the form on the board against Hondo as he repeated the earlier season win to claim a clean sweep against the Hondominators with several key players spudding it up for Hondo. The Ginger Ninjas have taken a conservative approach to the minor round minimising the damage that byes can have to his squad and it has so far paid handsome dividends. Thehe seventh ranked side has progressed to a match up with the league leaders Darksiders in the Preliminary Final and it will be interesting to see what Reubens trading strategy will be for that one as he has three Bluebaggers in his team.

As for the REBCats I'd like to claim some brilliant tactical acumen led to my current position in the league but I have to confess that this week's victory was pure arse. With Pavlich going off early in the North game I had the edge all the way through and having Petrie spudding it up while Mumford went bezerk against the Saints was just beautiful. Having said that though I haven't had much luck in finals over the years. Squeaky has had some terrible luck in this finals series after getting rolled by a mere two points last week and having the wheels falling off this week. My REBCats will go in as Underdogs for the third straight week as I face the mighty Dusty Tunnels, a side I have yet to beat.

McEvoy, Petrie, ROK & Judd and to a lesser extent Hodge all messed me around. On the other hand, Ginger had the bad luck with Pavlich and Griffin, Boak and Broughton were down too. Then JRoo rode the Ginger-train home!

Well done Gingernuts and good luck for next week.

Cheers mate, I'm gonna need it! Was a good game - even at 3 quarter time of the last match there was only about 30 points in it.

Now onto Darksiders, and it all depends what he does with his Carlton lads.

REB I think you'll get me this week. No pavlich (how can you not have pavlich), no Gibbs and that's a zero unless lower plays. I'm what you called screwed!

I avoided Pavlich because I got burned like this by him in the tail-end of 2009 and 2010. Now it's too my advantage but it's too late for my Hogg hopes!

Sylvia got himself suspended the ****! Kerr and Darling will be struggling to pass a fitness test as well. As for Pav, I remember him struggling to get across the line last year and kept away from him for that reason. Also, I have Judd so if Kerr doesn't get up my midfield will be shit.

Don't start doing my 'underdog' act LOL.

FFS. Shoulda gone Bock a few weeks ago dammit. I always get sucked into trading in the top of the range rather than looking at recent form. Lucky I've got a couple of trades to work with still this week.

Hogg Premier League Prelim Previews

In Hogg Premier League finals this year the 7th and 8th ranked teams have won their way through to the Preliminary Finals. Unbackable premiership favourite Darksiders SCE will be facing a strong challenge from Gingernuts who is enjoying his best ever season in Hogg Premier. Meanwhile the newly promoted CoverKing will be up against the REBCats who are having their worst ever season in Hogg Premier despite the average being up on last year. Remember folks that the winner of this week’s matches will gain an invitation to the first ever Hogg Champions League to be run next season.

1. Darksiders SCE vs. 7. The Ginger Ninjas

Is this the week that the Darksiders SCE luck runs out? The Dark Side has three Carlton players (plus Broughton) to be replaced for this final and two trades only covers two of them. How Reuben manages his Carlton boys is the key to this match. The Ginger Ninjas for their part have taken a deliberate bye free strategy for the finals series and so far that is paying dividends. However, I believe that Darksiders SCE can squeak by the Ninjas as I know first hand that Reuben always seems to have trades up his sleeve at the right time of year. The last time these teams met Darksiders SCE had one of his arsey trademark less than five point victories so needless to say Gingernuts is going to have to get that Captaincy choice right. I reckon Darksiders SCE will win this one, but as usual it will be only just.

3. Dusty Tunnels vs. 8. REBCats

CoverKing has been pulling my ‘I can’t win this week’ act really early in the piece and that makes me nervous because that 5hit has served me well this month. Come on Dusty Tunnels, claiming underdog status against the 8th ranked side? While Dusty Tunnels are understrength the same can be said of my mob. The key to this match are those who are on the iffy list, rather than those who are already ruled out. Daniel Kerr is a much needed inclusion for REBCats and if Nick Lower somehow doesn’t get a gig in what’s left of the Dockers then CoverKing has a donut in the backline. Nick Riewoldt might be iffy as well but the good news for both of us is Freo have no one else so Lower must come in and the Saints simply can’t afford to leave out St Nick or the Roos might snaffle their top eight spot. This one, as in many games this weekend will be decided on Thursday night. I’m going to stick with my successful formula during the finals and tip a Dusty Tunnels victory.

Good luck to all, even you CoverKing!
