Could they both play and Kossi could get the flick?

Quichey, do you regret not getting rid of Mundy and Selwood earlier now? You have those two, Sandi and Rioli IIRC?

Traded Mundy out for Swan. Selwood is a keeper, should serve me well when he returns from his suspension.

Should have traded out Sandi, but banked on him making a full recovery and getting one up on those that pull the trigger on him initially. Didn't pay off in the end.

Yep Im hoping selwood will be POD for me when he returns

Which would be real useful after you get rolled by Darksiders in the Qualifying final.

Hogg Premier Preview Round 12

With four rounds left in Hogg Premier for season 2011 there is much that is still to be decided. Darksiders SCE look tough to beat for the minor premiership so anyone who can finish second or third will avoid meeting up with the Dark side in the first week of the finals.

Cocky CoverKing might be one of the teams that can attain one of these coveted positions and despite some recent disasters I’m hoping my mob can be the other one although both sides need to start winning consistently in order to do this.

The Squeakeroos DTC have better top four claims than my REBCats and we play each other during the run home and that match might decide which one of us has to play Darksiders SCE, that is if both teams make the top four.

It seems a bit unfair to be putting a line through The Ginger Ninjas and Mr Football though and the winner of their clash this week will also have strong top four claims. Both teams should make the finals. Hondominators YSCC have had a tough year but has a reasonably gentle run home so he should have enough troops to qualify for the finals.

The relegation battle is also going to be tight with perhaps only the chardy socialists looking capable of escaping the playoff zone. The team that the chardys will be looking to displace from the top 12 appears to be Blue_Guns who have been struggling after a bright start to the season.

REBCats vs. Woody's Dropkicks

In a crucial match for both sides, Woody looks a bit weak through the midfield and in the backline but his Rucks have mine covered as I don’t have the coverage for the injured Sandilands. This will be a close match but I reckon (read hope) that the REBCats can win this one and keep our top four hopes alive in a round in which two other top four contenders in Far Q and Dusty Tunnels play each other.

Hawkeye vs. Poon Army

Hawkeye has been going along quite nicely in recent weeks and he can keep his top eight chances alive with a win over Poon Army. The Army were marching on earlier in the year on the back of some solid performers in the Red and Black but now that the wheels have fallen off at Bomberland the Poon Army are vulnerable. Hawkeye are in better form and will account for the Poon Army as I tip against Hammo once again.

Darksiders SCE vs. Squeakeroos DTC

This is the match of the round this week with Squeaky really getting a move on in recent weeks. These are two of the better scoring teams in Hogg Premier and this match up will be of a high standard. With the Darksiders SCE sitting pretty this match is a bit more important to the Squeakeroos DTC. Even though this REBCat would prefer to see the Dark side win this one I reckon that the Squeakeroos DTC will overcome the power of the dark side and win the game and keep the heat on the top four teams.

Dusty Tunnels vs. Far Q

Things have turned pear shaped in recent weeks for the Q Man whose Far Q are now on a three match losing streak. For the Dusty Tunnels though, everything is coming up Milhouse. While teams earlier in the year were getting knocked off by the Q Man the Tunnels get to play a punch drunk team reeling from multiple blows. Dusty Tunnels will take advantage of the situation and record a crucial victory……..and CoverKing will be unbearable.

chardy socialists vs. Boxhead United

United look certain to face the drop here and if the chardy socialists cannot escape the drop zone then this match looms as a potential relegation playoff preview. The chardies are two games plus percentage out of the eight so a big win wouldn’t go astray here but the top eight looks to be just out of reach for the improving finn. Boxhead has failed to turn up for many weeks and his Premier League days are numbered. The chardies won’t miss this opportunity to record a much needed victory.

Hondominators YSCC vs. Blue_Guns

Time is running out for Gordy (Jiskar) to make his mark on Hogg Premier this year. If the Guns can win this one against Hondo then not only is their season still alive it will really put the heat on the eighth ranked Hondominators. Like Far Q, Hondo is not as strong as he was earlier in the season but the same can be said for the Blue_Guns. Hondominators YSCC will win this game and drop the Blue_Guns into relegation territory which is a big drop from the top of the table status the Guns had earlier in the season.

The Ginger Ninjas vs. Mr Football

The Ginger Ninjas had a slight stumble recently but recorded a much needed win last week to steady the ship. Mr Football for their part have been a very consistent team this season and this shows from the ladder positions as they have been in the eight all season and should go on with it and contest in the finals this year. I reckon though that Gingernuts’ best might be a bit better than Pup’s best and for that reason I’m tipping a Ginger Ninjas victory.

FOOTYLEDGENS vs. dunKsKrew

Like the chardies v United match, this match represents a relegation play off preview. Both of these teams’ seasons have never really got started and despite the odd upset win (both of these teams have defeated top four side Dusty Tunnels) it’s been a disappointing year for both. My lad The Cub keeps telling me ‘I want to make my own decisions’ and that suits me as I have all this stuff to write and some of his moves are totally unpredictable. That makes this match a tough one to predict. Duncs’ side is a lot better than his ladder position suggests and I’m now going to make my own decision……dunKsKrew to win.

Dusty Tunnels
367 + Suckling + Bailey

v

Far Q
Pendlebury + Petrie + Krakeour + J. Brown + Adcock

Anyone's Game. This is a double whammy aswell cause we are playing eachother in Cash League aswell as Premier League this week

I'm with you Hondo. My opposition had him as captain - 360! No chance of winning against that. :(

Must get ASAP, otherwise no chance this year.

GAJ will break the $600K barrier after this week. Hope you've got some spare cash!

I actually have got $190K I was going to sit on for a while

Now I think I have to spend it to get the game's best player. I should have got him when I had chances earlier on but there's no point being stubborn when it's GAJ.

I got out of jail without him this week but Judd won't score 180 every week. McEvoy and Hodge won't get 140s every week either.

If there was a clear cut alternative perma-captain I would be less fussed. However, it's when he is the captain you don't have that the gap is doubled. He's a must I reckon. Why didn't I work this out earlier!

I was hoping that Swan could cut it as an alternative perma-captain but they thrash Hawthorn and he still only gets 102.

Some absolutely huge results this week with the Darksiders doing almost everyone a favour by beating the high scoring Squeakeroos combination. Another team who lost despite scoring over 2400 is the Poon Army who went down by 39 points. Blue_Guns also scored a very good 2348 and got done by Hondo in a loss that has jeopordised the Guns Premier League status.

The winners in this round are the REBCats and Dusty Tunnels who snuck away from the pack on 7-5 with vital wins. The REBCats just about put paid to Woodys season while CoverKing sentenced the Q Man to his fourth straight loss. Far Q were top of the ladder a month ago but now they are not a good bet to make the finals. Even the bloke who put a million on the Cats on Saturday isn't touching Far Q in the betting.

Gingernuts is starting to once again look like a finals spectator after he failed to make a dent against Mr Football who gleefully jumped into the top four. The chardy socialists have been rewarded with some very consistent play in recent weeks to finally climb out of the relegation zone for the first time in their Hogg career. A five hundred point victory does wonders in such a close competition and this percentage boost has dropped the Blue_Guns into the orange dip.

13 teams still in it I reckon but the teams on five would need to win the lot. Of the teams out of the top eight Hawkeye has the best form and on form he'll be looking at Far Q and Poon Army to continue on their wobbly way so they can snaffle a spot in the eight.

I reckon that the top four plus Squeaky and Hondo are safe so that leaves seven teams fighting it out for the last two spots in the eight.

I play the bottom 2 teams in the next 2 rounds so without counting my chickens I should (fingers crossed) be 9-5 heading into my round 15 match up with Mr Football. If I am lucky I could sneak into the top 4. I don't think I will have enough petrol in the tank (trades) to keep up with the best sides in the finals though.

I will have a problem in finals covering Carlton, Geelong and NM players. With just the one team I run it was difficult for me to avoid these guys just for the sake of league finals so I feel a specialist league team should have an edge over me. Even more reason for me to get Ablett and take one key disadvantage out of the equation.
