Apparently he hit his head and hurt his jaw against the Bulldogs, not sure if that's why he was a late withdrawal though.

it was a close game, the two zero's that i had were Joel Corey and Alex Rance (iv carried him because of the easy draw and didn trade him this week which luckily paid off, just). So with $220 k in the bank, im looking forward to the game against Darcy i think. Div 1 is looking like there will be numerous sides with a chance come finals time.

I cleaned him up in one of my leagues and he takes SC very seriously. Earlier on the year he was bragging about how shit Hogg Div I and posted in the Sike box that he would go through undefeated. He's already been rolled by SCD so time for CoverKing to step up!

I would be giggling very loudly if Darc failed to win promotion this year. ;)

The big scores were back in SuperCoach this week and Hogg Premier League coaches didn't miss out. It was business as usual for GordonBlues who accounted for the FOOTYLEDGENS while the chardonnays had the most significant win of the round by accounting for the highly rated Black Magic in the match of the week. Mr Football, REBCats and the Poon Army all consolidated in the top eight and bottom eight teams The Ginger Ninjas and It Hurts so Bad had much needed wins. This round marks the point in the season when the draw 'switches over' and we play against the other half of the comp. In Premier League the two halves of the draw appear to be evenly matched so the teams from FOOTYLEDGENS to dunKsKrew have a bit of work to do to make the eight. There are no 'blockbuster' matches for this round. Buddy and the Boys face up to the REBCats in the only top eight matchup and FOOTYLEDGENS need to knock off the in-form Poon Army to get his season up and running after his 0-3 start. Perhaps the match of the round is the battle of the heavyweights...15th ranked It Hurts so Bad and Testaccio SPQR with the loser with one hand on the Hogg Premier League wooden spoon.

darcy DTF vs CoverKing

The CoverKing has ascended the throne in Hogg Division I and is looking every inch the Premier League particpant with some brilliant recent form. CoverKing cleaned up The Fenders who at one stage were 5-zip but have now fallen to 5th spot on the ladder. Right behind the royal one is Darcy DTF who racked up another regulation win with a pretty good score to also go to 6-1. The Squeakeroos remain the Mouse that failed to roar as they are now outside the top eight of this fairly lowly ranked league even though he has scored over 14 thousand points in seven rounds. Look out for Squeaky over the remainder of the season. SCD continued on his winning ways and these two sides will be major threats to the Manbaggers and Dutchys Dodos who appear to have benefited from being on the soft side of the draw. Punk Roosters won the battle of the giants down the other end of the table and the team would have celebrated long into the night. In other 'how crap are they' news The Mighty Eagles were belted by over 1000 points by SCD who got a massive percentage booster there. In this week's matches the highlight is the blockbuster between CoverKing and Darcy DTF. I know for a fact that Darcy doesn't have trades to burn and that CoverKing has been holding back a little so CoverKing needs to capitalise here and take advantage of Darcy while he is in a vulnerable position. Simply put, if CoverKing can't beat Darc now, he won't beat him in August. HUGE MATCH!

Jacks Stars has embarrassed The Ginger Ninja here by being the only person in the household to have a top eight Hogg Shield side after the Stars bowled over Jake Lillie's team in Round 7. The top teams flexed their muscles in Round 7 with only holland's heros having a tough time after Broderik gave him the willies in the Sike out box and nearly claimed the chocolates in what would have been a boilover the next week. The Underdogs got found out a bit on the weekend and things will get a bit ruff for them as they take on some of the giants of the league..that's if you can have a giant in Division II! In this week's games the significant matches are The Ginger Ninjas have to build on last week's win against the FNQ Trotters and a big opportunity exists for FOOTYLEDGENS to take on Hondos Hard Nuts who haven't put a foot wrong all season.

I see the Chardies have several key players out, the Ninjas could be an outside chance this week yet.

Will he make some trades or keep them in the bank and take a gamble against a supposedly ordinary opposition this week?

It was you last week throwing around the 'bye' word, we're up and about now! You should never fireup a rednut REB, the temper matches the pube colour.

Seriously though, if the TAB was offering odds I'd just about slip a sly twenty onto the old Ninjas......

I'm in deep *** this week! After the first 2 games I think Footy Ledgens going to scalp me by a fair bit.

EDIT: Now Drummond is injured and scored only 3 :( I'm stuffed.

I'm struggling as well. The only high scoring players I have my opponent, Buddy and the Boys already has. Too many of my blokes are getting 70-90 where Parko is racking up tons. I'm 150 up but I've used three more players. For me the Cats game is always the key.

Yep, the Ninjas hurt by injuries as well, Drummond robbed a possible 100+ points and Kingys crude hit kept Powers score right down, he was having a pretty good game up until then.

Not that it would've made a difference to the result, got belted by 200+.

I have to say, the standard of the Hogg Shield has gone up a notch this year. I feel like I have improved on last year and yet the results aren't showing that!

Racked up a donut with Gilbert on the field and C Cornes already benched, then had Ziebell withdraw to be replaced by Walker who was useless, and the final nail being Rioli's injury early on - the total score for that lot being 37.

Lucky I was playing the hapless HOF

Positives were Didak finding form, Goodes showing he has been a worthy replacement for Higgins (outscoring him both times since the swap), and Giansiracusa also being a handy replacement the last two games for the out-of-favour Krakouer.

In a round where the scores were well up the injuries to Cyril Rioli and Josh Drummond settled more than few contests in Hogg Premier League this week. GordonBlues remains untroubled at the top of the ladder but don't look now Black Magic is once again casting his spell on the league racking up a massive 2414 points on the weekend. There were four coaches in Hogg Premier League this week that racked up over 2000 points yet still lost. The most suprising result is the scorefest between the two bottom teams who look to be sharpening up their teams to avoid relegation. The relegation battle this season could have some real spice in it this season so staying out of the bottom four would be a good plan in 2009! GordonBlues, the chardonnays and Black Magic SCE look likely finalists at this stage but just about every other side in the league is in contention for the finals come August. This week the match of the round is between Mr Football who is back in form and the mighty GordonBlues who have proven themselves to be unstoppable so far this season. In case you are wondering about the standard of the Hogg, the league ranking has gone up over a hundred from last round and has gone up over four thousand from last year! Sheesh, need a win say just about all of us!

There has been an allmighty shake up in this league with three bottom eight sides climbing into the top eight and not one but two former top sides sliding into the bottom half of the league. In the game of the round WYCBLOODS won the battle of the brothers and as a result CoverKing now finds themselves out of the top four after playing off for top spot a couple of weeks ago. Supre Cil Dlouhs struck again and knocked Dutchys Dodos out of the top eight while the Manbaggers and Leisa's Lovelies made an appearance in the top eight after picking off a couple of the lame ducks who sit in the bottom four. No real 'blockbusters' to speak of in Division I to speak of this weeek but the match between the slow starting WYCBLOODS and The Manbaggers is a crucial one for the Bloods if he is to stay in touch with the top eight. Dutchys Dodos face a tough battle to get back in the eight as they take on league heavyweight Q Before You who has one Hogg already and has said 'thank you sir may I have another'! The bookies have smac at a zillion to one to defeat Darcy this week so Darc might yet put on twenty cents and then throw the game ha ha. What a collect!

Round 9 Fixture

REBCats vs Hondo's Hard Nuts
FOOTY LEDGENS vs Jacks Stars
Leisa's Lovelies vs FNQ Trotters
The Ginger Ninjas vs The Willies
Buddys Dealer DTF vs holland's heros
Brendamage vs Bazbulldog
Powerfools vs Jake Lillie's
cobra's vs The Underdogs

There were a couple of upsets in Hogg Division II last week as Jacks Stars with Tippett and Edwards starrring and FOOTY LEDGENS on fire knocked off power teams REBCats and Hondos Hard Nuts respectively. The big winners out of this situation were the Underdogs who really came to play as they belted Booney's Powerfools and Hollands Heros who had a regulation win against struggling Brendamage. Buddys Dealer DTF and FOOTY LEDGENS are knocking hopefully on the door of the top eight and Cubby takes on Jacks Stars this week to see if that door will open. The Underdogs appear to be putting their hand up for respect and they take on another high scoring team in the cobras in a crucial clash. Leisa's Lovelies take on the FNQ Trotters in another important match and REBCats will be taking on top side Hondos Hard Nuts with both teams looking to hit back after unexpected losses last week. Of all the three top Hoggs this league appears to have the most interesting match ups for Round 9.
