Big news in the league rankings this week as the Premier League have now overtaken a spluttering Hogg Elite who aren't living up to their name this season. Several dominating teams from last season are having seasons to forget and this must be effecting the overall performance of Hogg Elite who have yet to live up to their star billing so far this season.

Division II is still performing very well and this week saw a spike in performance for Hogg Division III. Divvy I stinking up the joint with its lowest ranking for a few seasons.

valleys' golden season continues with another solid score and he maintains his position as the best coach in the Hogg in season 2015. Summer of George is having a solid year as well and he has risen to number 2, 51 points behind Delicious. Inner Sanctum at number 3 remains the best of the new coaches.

Best score this week was Andrew Bailey with 2313. The Northern Cats picked the right time to fire as he beat his mate MAGPIE MAFIA in their Division III clash with a big score the same week that the Cats cleaned up the Pies. Plenty of value there for Andy!

Hogg Premier League is still outscoring Hogg Elite this season as the Elite league took a tumble while Premier improved it's ranking slightly. The big improver of the round this week was Division IV who improved their ranking by over 1000 places while Division III managed to improve by over 500. The dud league of the round this week was Division I as they dropped 1300 in the places in the ranking. Divvy I was decimated by multiple withdrawals from Premier League this season and the performance of this league has dropped away from recent seasons.

This season we have the worst Hogg Elite league in its short history and Premier League has fallen away as well this season from last year's peak. At the lower end of the scale this year's Piglet Shield is the second best in its history, it has only made the top 10k once and our lowest division this year, Divvy V is 6k ahead of last year's Division VI which was the worst Hogg league ever.

Hogg newbie Inner Sanctum is the new leader in the rankings after they recorded a solid 2121 when many of the other top sides had a bit of a slip up. Previous leader Delcious could only manage 1981 and even the usually reliable Summer of George failed to crack the 2000 mark. 15th ranked Jays Jocks topped the scoring this week with 2293 and fellow Division II side Brown Boys also scored well with a 2275 but not too many sides could manage 2200 this week. The lowest ranked side to achieve a score of 2200 or better this week was 107th ranked Victorious Secret who appear to be all Duck or no Dinner and as such are a tricky prospect for those teams in the Piglet Shield and Division V.

Surely this carnage has to end soon?

All season it has been Hogg Division II that has been the beast league that has punched above its weight but in recent weeks Division III has been on the march. This week two teams from this league topped 2300 and not too many sides spudded it up either. The gap between II and III is now 527 and closing. Perhaps Divvy II has jumped the shark.

Meanwhile Divvy I are stinking up the place, outside the top 5000 now.

2013 leading scorer Bens Rolfsburgers are back on top of the ladder but that stat won't make him a happy SuperCoach. He's already spewing about being the number one ranked coach in Premier League as he is sitting in eleventh spot on the ladder. Um...better not show him this stat folks! If it cheers him up any he's only three points ahead of Inner Sanctum and eight ahead of Has Been.

A team on the up at the moment is Division III outfit Northern Cats who have topped the league scoring and not for the first team either. The (Northern) Cats scored 2331 defeating Blighty Teasdale who got the second biggest score in the Hogg (2301) but lost! How unlucky are Rolfs and Blighty? I don't feel so bad about my Round 8 wipeout now.

In a round where the scoring was up only the top three Hogg Leagues prospered. Premier went up from 274 and Elite from 412. Hogg Division I had the biggest jump by climbing from 5005 up to 4449 but that is because that is a shit ranking for a league that high. All of the other leagues went backwards with the Piglet and especially Hogg V copping a smashing. Hogg V dudded it big time going back over 5000 spots.

Inner Sanctum absolutely smashed it this weekend for a season high 2594, the sort of score that brings back memories of the heady days when you could count on 300 as Gaz your perma-captain racked it up yet again. Two other coaches racked up 2500 this week and it was my misfortune to be playing one of them. Squeakeroos DTC flogged me even though I got my best score of the season as he racked up 2541. Fellow Premier League outfit Hondo SCC also topped 2500 with his 2519.

A lot of teams went bezerk in Hogg Premier with no less than eleven coaches getting over 2300 with quite a few of those coaches losing with that score (including me ).

Darksiders SCE are back in familiar territory leading the way in the Hogg after ten rounds after Inner Sanctum had a slight slip up and dropped to third. Best score in the Hogg this week was Division II Professor Crow who scored 2324 in a round where many coaches failed to crack 2000. I also managed to track down Isotopes score but he looks like he is tanking this year so he probably won't thank me for including them in the rankings.

The byes have begun and some leagues have fared better than others. Premier League made great strides and has opened up a lead of over a hundred spots over Hogg Elite who netherless improved their ranking to 250. Hogg II continued to fall away a bit with Hogg III really closing the gap as Hogg I continuing to tread water.

The Piglet went up slightly while Hogg IV and Hogg V dropped away a bit.

As expected the bye weeks upset the Apple cart for many coaches with only six coaches in the Hogg topping the 2050 mark this week. Best of the round was Les's Men who scored 2078. Other top sides to score well included new leader Ben Rolfsburgers with 2069 and Darksiders SCE with 2057 which wasn't enough to hold the lead in the rankings.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the round was the performance of the 17th ranked Division III side RICCO UTD who scored 2063. In the last few weeks RICCO has started to bob up with a big score or two and they could be a fly in the ointment in the run home for some Divvy III sides. So far though, he's stuck on 92 so a long mountain to climb.

The Darkside is back on top of the tree in what was a low scoring round with nearly everyone's midfield sidelined due to the bye structure. Either the AFL or SC is taking the piss here. Only one team cracked the 2000 mark and that was Squeakeroos DTC from the Premier League with his 2004 with the SHARKS being the unlucky team to cop that score against them.

First update for a couple of weeks and Elite has snuck into the top 200 but they still trail Premier by 51..yeah...we're just that good. The only mover for quite a while now is that Hogg III has powered on past Hogg Division II with Divvy I still nowhere near where they should be. Obviously the mass defection of Premier League sides in 2014 has hit Divvy I pretty hard.
