Waters struggled all summer. You could see that one coming. I was surprised he got up for the early matches.

Yeah I would imagine that the ball would be in the Melbourne forwardline a lot. ;)

Went with mid-pricer strategy across forward line. Goddamn it's cost me some points. Karnezis and Varcoe with single digits in the last two rounds has killed me. Never again.

Same, at least JJK is going okay. Was hoping for 2 out of 3 middies to go okay. No dice.

Hmmm I am thinking of keeping Varcoe as a non player so I can use him as my dummy captain for the captaincy loophole. All my other players are likely to be selected to play...

Gary Ablett has a hand injury but should play against Port. I wonder if this will or has impacted his scoring in the last two weeks. 99 and 112 are modest returns by Gaz's standards. I reckon Dean Cox would be a good skipper this week against a Kruzerless Carlton but I've been burnt by the big Eagle before.

Yeah i will provide avoid GAJ as captain this week especially considering Port have a couple of decent taggers in Cornes or maybe even Cassisi if he was to come into the side.

Im thinking i might use Buddy as vice captain loop whole and then have Cox us my captain if Buddy fails.

I gambled even heavier than you did on mid-price forwards (Karnezis, Varcoe, Harper and Byrnes as well as the obvious Kennedy), thinking that none of the rookie forwards would make enough money to be worthwhile investments.

So I'm paying the price for it now in lost trades, especially as the players I am replacing them with (Dwyer, Neade, Leuenberger and Rowe (probably)) were all options I was strongly considering at the start of the season and which many others did take, so I am not gaining anything on other managers by making these trades, just catching back up to them.

I'll never say "never again" though - each AFL season is unique and brings a unique set of fantasy challenges so you need to keep your options open to various strategies.
