Also Bartel named on bench along with Scotland on an extended bench, could be a chance of sub for Jimmy and a rest for Scotland

I suppose this is the best place to vent!

I believe Rodney Eade has lost the coaching plot!
I know he has history with this sort of thing, but I think he is now hurting the Dogs (little own the Lions) but he needs to play the good juniors.
He has some first-class juniors playing Foxtel cup this weekend and not getting AFL exposure.
He has cost me in the past with dropping out juniors late in the year but surely, they are not going to make a Prelim, so change your strategy?

Yes, he looks good for introducing youngsters but the Dogs need them to get to 50 games sooner rather than later.

That is a SuperCoach comment and not a football one. I believe that Rocket has done a reasonably good job blooding the younger players this season. If you are expecting Liberatore or Wallis to play 22 matches this year well that was never going to happen. If you were expecting Roughead to play 16 matches while they have Hudson and Minson that wasn't going to be on either. The intelligence on the Bulldogs youngsters pre-season was that they wouldn't get that many games but due to the Doggies slide Libba in particular has gotten more games than you might have reasonably expected.

Also Hooper played last week, that young bloke (forget his name) that has the 'Nason' haircut has been a regular for the past few weeks and they've blooded others including last year's first round draft pick Howard as well.

Your thinking of Luke Dahlhaus (spelling) there REB. Looks to be an exciting young player.

Very unlikely to make any trades this week, but will have to wear a number of donuts in the forwardline with the byes.

I really need Cam Richardson and Buddy to play to avoid donuts... Any rumours on these 2?

Richardson included in the squad, with the Kangas making two omissions including Nathan Grima. Probably will be either sub or first EMG.

I've got two donuts this week now. I'm not trading though. Couldn't care about toal points at the end of the year. I'm going for the cash prize in most of my league and saving my 11 trades i have left for the real stuff. Not bye weeks

I've got 6 trades left.
Looking at a Sandi > Lobbe & Buckley > Fisher
Leave me with 4 with a finished team with full coverage on bench for rest of year, including multi-byes.
Might upgrade J.Riewoldt to Chappy next week.
3 left.
Sit tight R18 to R20

R21 QF - Petrie only so would bench him, but really need to win for the week off to avoid the Geelong bye NO TRADE
R22 SF - like i said MUST win the QF (Enright, Bartel and maybe Chappy) hopefully NO TRADES
R23 PF - will use two trades for Judd & Gibbs 2 TRADES
R24 GF - if i make it got no essendon players NO TRADES

Leaves me with one emergency trade.

you would want to make sure you finish top4
your team should already be 90% premiums by this stage so will you be side trading?

And there's not too many cash cow rookies left to downgrade to. Callinan is the only 1 I can think of at the moment

I will be bringing in premiums for premiums if there are bye's or if some are out of form, i'll trade em out. either way, it won't matter, because i will have the trades to use, so i will use them. i have $670k in the bank too, so won't be looking at cash cow rookies. too late for that. my team is set, so will now just be a matter of trading in whoever i want each week.

I'm pretty happy with my team now, I've been actively working to make it 'bye proof' during finals. I only have Gibbs and Johnson as players from teams with byes in finals now.

The only problem with this strategy has been that I have dropped a few games due to bye exposure now, which means I'm still not assured a finals spot! I have to win 2 out of the next 3 to make it, and with 2 of of those games against bottom 4 sides I'm pretty confident.

If I do make the finals, I think I'm well set up to do some damage. :D

Whatever happens, this year has been a big change from the last few years of being Premier League plodder and perennial relegation avoider.

Had to burn a trade to get 22 on the field in SC. I'm not taking my foot off the pedal until I am well clear of the relegation zone in Hogg Div IV...

I don't think you want to be leaving upgrades for finals. I think the trades you have left are to cover injuries or to do luxury upgrades on keepers youy already have. If you plan to do an upgrade but then an injury trade gets forced on you, you can't do both.

It's a real balancing act as Gingernuts said. You save trades for your gun finals campaign but then you need to trade to make the finals in the first place. Trade too hard and win more games than you need to and then you risk crashing out of the finals despite finishing top 4.

My single worst trade this year was Liberatore-->Wallis in round 7 when Libba was rested. I got swayed by a few people talking Wallis up (not on here).

I knew about the pre-season advice not to rely on the Bulldogs rookies and then I go and swap one for another. Wallis is still rotting on my bench. That trade sent my team backwards.

If only I could pin it on just one trade. I've traded in underperfoming guns from previous years who haven't really been worth the risk. Didak in particular was a poor trade as I panicked when Chapman was rested. Also I need to give myself an uppercut for selecting Rioli and Higgins in my initial squad.

Been scrambling ever since thanks to those two.

Had some bad luck with Mundy, Grimes, Tapscott and Bartel though this year. It's amazing I'm in second in Hogg Premier. The same team in Divvy III is in the relegation zone.

Yes it is a Fantasy football comment out of frustration as I have Wallis and Howard rotting on my DT bench. I still think they should get more than half a dozen games for the year in a year the Dogs are not doing so well.
SC bench has had Lachie Keefe warming the pine all year, could he get a game with Dawes out? The other SC perennial bencher is that dastardly Cam Richardson.
