Ouch!

I invested in a $216K insurance policy at R3 for that exact scenario. Come on down Drew Petrie.

I also have Petrie, however I'm not sure who to run... I've also got Vickery who seems to be coming along ok and just traded in Smith for Fraser...

Smith looks likely to be a keeper if he can keep up his scores but out of vickery and Petrie I'm not so sure...

Petrie will get better but how long will it take. 60 iirc in round 2 isn't all that flash... And vickery dragged 72 out of the pumping by Hawthorn... Decisions decisions...

Otherwise will be missing Goddard, Reiwoldt, Boyd, Higgins and Liberatore. Replaced by Smith, Swallow, Duigan (Heppell to MID-Buckley to DEF), Matera, Darling

a bit of scoring power down but no doughnuts...

That article was posted on Monday, rumours (apparently eminating from within Freo's inner sanctum) came to the surface yesterday.

My defence is leaking points at the moment. I have Heath Grundy and Brett Deledio who are causing me concern.

Im looking at 2 possible downgrade options being Jed Adcock and Matt Suckling (only concern being their injury history) but both players are scoring well and would free up some coin to upgrade elsewhere.

I know the golden rule with premiums (deledio) is to leave them and i most likely will, but grundy is giving me the headaches.

Any suggestions or should i stick with what i have?

If you wanted to free up some more cash, Brodie Smith is a good downgrade target. His price goes up after this round.

Its one that ive considered but scoring is the only thing that concerns me with smith. Im leaking points in defence already, i need to include someone that i can guarantee points from.

Suckling looks the goods but just not sure its worth the gamble...

Not sure Grundy's start hasn't been as bad as you think. At his price, 412K, he is just below a premium. Surely you would have picked him to average 90 (averaged 90 in 2010 and 70 in 2009) , his scores have been 82,98,56 at an average of 80. He does have the bye coming up in Round 5, but not sure why you would have picked him in the first place if you are going to jump off him already based on the first 3 rounds????
I'd be sticking with him at this stage, at least see how he plays at home against Geelong, but it's your call.

Yeah he is averaging 80 which im not complaining with, my point being i can pick matt suckling who is ave. 100 and save $200k. not sure on which way ill go. I picked him on last years form as from your stats his ave. is quite healthy, just doesnt appear to be quite matching my expectations of him, maybe im being too harsh :)

Some of you blokes are a bit quick on the trigger finger. Getting rid of Reg Grundy and Lids at this time of year is madness.

I don't think it matters who you trade. There is always going to be someone who says it was the wrong thing to do. Bit like me getting shot down for getting rid of otten for Stefan Martin, so I could get some extra coin to bring in Smith for Derickx, as I didn't have enough money to do a one off trade of Derickx for Smith. Otten's a spud anyway
