When does the lockout end, so I can have a look in detail at the carnage of Round 1?

Yarran is the main worry for me coming out of round 1. I should have started Tapscott as it turned out. I felt Yarran was a reasonable punt but I'll see how he goes this week before making a move.

Goodes once again starts slowly. I was very reluctant on him but once I saw he would be a very popular pick I went with him after a big pre-season.

Dean Cox, Watson, Gibbs, Pendlebury, Sandilands and Swan were my stars this week.

The Good: Defence! Averaged 100 points per player across this line (not including the Captaincy double-up).

The Bad: Underperforming premiums...Boyd, Goodes, Franklin

The Ugly: Selwood. Not his fault, but was on target for a big score. If he had stayed on and cracked a ton, I would have won two of my four leagues as opposed to losing all four.

Still to Come: GCS! Striking a balance among starting players will be important here, not so sure we can just throw them all into the starting line-up. Picking the rookies that are going to score big each week is going to be a big test.

Rant/Rave: The Bulldogs and stinking up everyone's teams with crappy SC scores.

The Good: Goddard, Swan, Cox (& having him as my captain)

The Bad: Franklin

The Ugly: Having Curnow on the bench #-o

Rant/Rave: Think there were some 'gremlins' getting around the SC page - as I was 99.9% sure I put Naitanui on the bench (but he magically returned to the field = 0) - and had spread out my emergencies, but somehow ended up with 2 in the forward line and none in the ruck  :(

Overall happy with my result/score this week though - first week and all.

Rant/Rave: Yarran and Everitt (2 mid-priced punts) are a concern. Mainly Yarran. Also I switched Curnow to Atley at the last minute, doh.

Everitt will get defensive shut-down roles for most of the year I reckon, not much chance of him breaking a ton this year. Yarran had one bad game, still think it is worth seeing how he plays against GCS.

The Good: All my rookie selections that played looked pretty good and should get a few weeks in the team. Doesnt look like there are any injury concerns from the weekend either (for my team at least)

The Bad: Only major concern is Foley - altho was meant to be sick so I think he will come good. Also havent got Swan yet so until i upgrade for him if i dont get my captain selection right it could cost me a few games.

The Ugly: -

Still to Come:The bye. Will lose Knights, Dangerfield & Otten this week. But should be able to cover them.

Rant/Rave: Had a few players underperform but on the other hand a number of lower priced players exceeded expectations. So a decent first week.

The Good: Gibbs.

The Bad: The Milburn debacle.

The Ugly: Vickery.

Still to Come: Matera, Dixon.

Rant/Rave: Curnow & Lower. I had Harry Taylor in my auto-filled side, swapped him for Enright then swapped him again for Milburn, annoyed with myself now as Taylor had good points in the NAB games.

Went with Goodes even though he generally starts slow, but because he was doing a bit of time in the midfield during the pre-season. Picked over ROK because of ROK's limited pre-season and rumours of niggles. Picked over Pavlich because rumour had it that he would spend more and more time up forward, thus limiting his opportunity to chase possession.

Really keen to see what Goodes' role is again this week before I consider an unthinkable sideways trade.

The Good: Tapscott Curnow Ryder/Cox Swan Gibbs

The Bad: Tapscott being my only forward scoring over 100

The Ugly: Selwood and Browns collisions

Still to Come: GC players

Rant/Rave: Having Mckernan on the bench and Buckley on the field. Forgetting to name Swan skipper on Friday and losing J Brown for 8 weeks.
