My luck finally runs out. Gingernuts nabs a two-point win, the victory riding on Krakouer's shot on goal after the final siren...sends it well left and with it my Hogg Premier unbeaten streak of 7 games...blast.

Yes Far Q's luck has run out and finally Gingernuts' ship has come sailing in as a meaningless after the siren miss during an 88 point thrashing may have enabeled the Ginger Ninjas to qualify for the Hogg Premier League Finals. The Mundy factor created mayhem in this league and there appears to be further major upheavals to come over the next couple of weeks as coaches anxiously eye the trades remaining column.

Mr Football and the REBCats were two other sides on winning runs that hit the wall this week in a round where only three of the top eight sides enjoyed victories. There is only one game between third and 10th now so there are some absolutely crucial fixtures coming up in this league.

Looking at the table it is clear that percentage, or lack of it is going to be a massive factor on determinning finals or top four positions this year. If you are out of the top eight on percentage now you may need another win to scramble in this year as 8 wins and a low percentage might not cut it.

I have the big 4 - Swan, Pendlebury, Mundy and Selwood. The perfect storm has struck. I think this is my worst dilemma in my 3 years of SuperCoach!

I need a clever solution but I haven't thought of it yet :o

You still going for overall points Hondo or you reckon you're too far behind to consider it now?

I've got three of those four. Mundy to Swan would be the perfect swap if the Pies were playing this week.

I was trying to go for overall points to the extent I could with still saving trades for league finals. I was planning to hold fire on the trades for a few weeks and come again with some trades closer to finals. I felt my team was pretty strong and that I could sit back a bit. Now I am fighting the feeling that the season is over on both overall points and league games. I need to get positive and work out a solution.

Ya know, it's funny. I'm sitting top in this league, which if I recall correctly is ranked higher than the other three leagues I'm in. In one league that's ranked 13,743, I'm sitting 7th and about to be badly beaten by nuff-nuffs who never bothered to pick up the likes of Sandilands, Selwood, Mundy, Pendlebury, Swan etc...

I am telling myself that all my bad luck for the year has hit in 1 week and the SC gods will target players that other people have from here on

So, nuff-nuffs look out!

Maloney, Dangerfield, McEvoy, Cloke ..... all these blokes are going to be struck down too!!! :)

I got sunk by McEvoy last weekend in the Piglet! ACK. REBCats going to cop plenty of furballs this week as well. :(

No offence was intended to any of those players or anyone that has them

I was just trying to pick some non-standard players out of a hat

Compared to my injury ridden lot they are great picks

Hogg Premier Preview Round 10

REBCats vs. Mr Football

Both teams have their problems this week but Mr Football looks to have the better coverage for this important match as far as possible top four spots go. The prize on offer here is a big one for the winner with a nice little buffer over the chasing pack the reward. Unfortunately I reckon Mr Football will flog the REBCats and the rewards will be Pup’s.

Hawkeye vs. dunKsKrew

Both teams have a lot of outs for this game with dunKsKrew having the edge in the backline but Hawkeye look the goods in the Ruck, forwards and Mids. The Hawks should clean up against the Gold Cost this week and seeing as Hawkeye is full of Hawks and the Krew is full of Suns I’m tipping a Hawkeye victory.

Darksiders SCE vs. Boxhead United

If Boxhead were to get up in this game it would prove to be the upset of the season with the worst team in the league playing off against the best. For the Dark side this round presents a perfect opportunity to hold off on the trades while everyone else madly tries to get rid of the donuts. Darksiders SCE to win comfortably in this one.

Dusty Tunnels vs. Blue_Guns

A quick look at the ladder shows that this match is a vital one for both teams. The Guns had a win over my REBCats last week as Mundy fell over and the Tunnels are experiencing similar difficulties this week. While the Blue_Guns are not the biggest scorers in the league they are relatively unscathed by this week’s wipeout. Despite this I’m tipping Dusty Tunnels to make all the right moves in order to secure a victory because it’s one thing to lose when someone goes down mid match it is another thing entirely when you can actually plan for it.

chardy socialists vs. Squeakeroos DTC

Squeaky can just about put the chardies away for the year if he can win this game but after suffering a shock loss to FOOTYLEDGENS he knows that there is no such thing as a walk up start in Hogg Premier. To trade or not to trade that is the question for Squeaky here because if he doesn’t trade then I reckon the chardies have him covered. I reckon Squeaky will trade his way to victory this week but this one will be a closie.

Hondominators YSCC vs. Far Q

Only the depth varies is a statement that might come to mind for both coaches in this important clash. Far Q has the benefit of an extra victory over the main challengers and has the luxury of sitting on his trades this week. No such luxury exists for Hondo who has more holes in his side, particularly in midfield than does Far Q. I reckon Hondo will trade for sure so Far Q will be forced into at least one trade IMO as he attempts to maintain that buffer. With Far Q a step ahead this spells defeat for Hondominators YSCC.

The Ginger Ninjas vs. Woody's Dropkicks

The Dropkicks took advantage of a weakened Hondo and this week he faces a Ginger Ninjas team who finally found a bit of luck as he squeaked by Far Q with a sub 2000 score. I reckon the Ninjas might be thinking about giving Zac Smith the chop as the Dropkicks have him covered in the Ruck with the Cox/Petrie combination. Gingernuts has Boak to bring in for Selwood and looks to have more points in him than Woody provided he makes the trade to eliminate that Ruck donut. I’m tipping The Ginger Ninjas to win this one.

FOOTYLEDGENS vs. Poon Army

FOOTYLEDGENS showed they aren’t ready to give up their Premier League status easily after they upset Squeakeroos DTC last week and I reckon they claim another top eight scalp this week in the form of Poon Army. The Army are down a couple of soldiers this week and they’ll probably have to send Joel Selwood to the brig in order to pull of this match. Even if Hammo does this I don’t reckon he’ll win this one as the FOOTYLEDGENS should go on to record back to back victories.

Enjoy your donuts all!

Are you forcing me into a trade REB

I can afford to drop this week's game, particularly if it benefits me trade-wise as I'm running low...not as low as Hondo though!

Didn't trade this week. I'll go Mundy to Swan when the time is right.

Can't see myself losing this game (hopefully not putting the mockers on myself). Blue guns captain and vice is Harris and ellard

Yes, it's time to put the gun back in the holster trade wise

I brought in Boyd and Bartel for Mundy and Selwood in a week where I wasn't even going to trade

I think my team is good enough for now and I'll see if it can limp me into the finals
