surprised i got as close as i did with 5 donuts in the side  . Cox was a good choice as captain this week though that got me a little closer than i had expected to get.

With K Cornes and Didak both not playing this coming weekend and me being too stubborn to make a trade, this is what my team will look like:

B: Gilbert, C Cornes, Gilbee
HB: Hurn, Mackie, Hill
C: Bartel, Higgins, Rich
HF: S Johnson, Pavlich, J Brown
F: Krakouer, Rioli, Ziebell
R: Cox, Judd, J Selwood
Int: Petterd, Dangerfield, McIntosh, Walker

Higgins is still under an injury cloud, Beams will have to replace him, but he too has a question mark over his fitness. Went with Selwood as Captain last week, which worked out very nicely, unsure as to who will get that tag this round.

Well after a narrow loss, keeping a couple of zero's and a bank balance of $700k+ (as i was $500 short of Ablett wen i wanted to trade, and then kept the money wen he got injured). I may just keep that up my sleeve as i have the bye (Punk's side) and take a couple zero's and make any trades the week after. The only question, should i trade this week and look for a massive percentage booster?? Anyone's thoughts?

REBCats side to take on the Ginger Ninjas in Round 5.

REBCats

F: Chapman, S Johnson, Pavlich
HF: Deledio, Krakouer, Higgins
C: Gibbs, Rich, Coughlan
HB: Gilbee, Adcock, Mackie
B: Goddard, Gilbert, C Cornes
R: Cox, Judd, J Selwood (c)
I/C: McIntosh, Grimes, Walker, T Tuck

Emer: Beams, Dawson, M Brown

IN: S Johnson, Grimes
OUT: Ziebell, Houlihan

OK, Higgins probably won't play but if he does I want him in ahead of Brown. Gingernuts is a Crow boy low on trades so I'm expecting him to play Walker. Obviously Stevie J trumps Ziebell and Grimes is going to go very well if he can stay fit and Houlihan might struggle to get games now. I'm in a good spot now with defenders with all nine available. The lack of trades is another matter but at least it's still in double figures!

I did 1 trade: Hodge - Newman

I named Higgins in my team just in case he plays, but nominated M Brown as the emergency.

K Cornes has cover in Dangerfied in case he doesn't come up

So I managed to avoid a donut but only have 2 playing emergencies, possibly none! Rance, Hurley, Jacobs, Anthony and Ziebell all sitting injured on my bench.

PS: I think my opponent is the ring in (?). It doesn't look like he's touched his side since round 1 and has no captain, VC or emergencies named

Bloody Gingernuts has traded in Giansiracusa and Scotty Stevens. I was hoping he'd 'dog it' this week but he's clearly got other ideas. I liked the look of his side a lot more when I played him in Divvy II a couple of weeks ago than the stronger looking side I'm currently 200 points behind this morning!

Bloody changes from selected sides, it kills you when you have no playing emergencies :(

Dammit, ran the risk of having a subtandard side to save trades and it's going to cost me this round. I have Darcy next week as well, so could be a sudden fall from grace for the Q-Ball.

Back on the winners list this round. Not a great score but had 2 0's thanks to poor form from Houlihan and Malceski.

3-2 and another good test this week.

Gordy stands alone as the only undefeated team in Hogg Premier League after five rounds of competition after he put Shaun back in his Box. There were some very close matches in the last round and it doesn't get much closer than Buddy and the Boys who had a one point victory over the previously undefeated chardonnays. dunKsKrew enjoyed a 56 point win over the wonder elephants who are more than a bit stiff to be 1-4 at this stage and Mr Football returned to form with an impressive 46 point win over Black Magic. The Poon Army and FOOTY LEDGENS were other teams who did well last year to get into the swing of things in 2009 with the Army cleaning up cellar dweller Blue Boy's Hurts so Bad combination and rejoining the top eight in the process. The match of the round this week is between GordonBlues and yours truly in the battle for top spot and you'll notice that it is getting very tight around the middle of the ladder so there are some big games between sides that are 2-3. At this stage it looks like two very capable teams will be battling it out in the relegation matches with the stragglers Testaccio SPQR and Hurts so Bad who would have to have a trades advantage come August.

Second year Div I coach bloodstainedangel5 (Joey) has staked his claim for a spot in Hogg Premier as the Fenders are the sole undefeated side after the first five rounds of the 2009 Hogg Division I title. Meanwhile Darcy's 'undefeated season' came crashing down at the hands of our very own SCD who has now won back to back matches and is clawing his way back into contention. The Q Man also go rolled by the Squeakeroos who look to be a fairly competent side. In fact the top eight sides of this league may prove pretty hard to shift despite the improved form recently of the Supre Cil Dluohs. In this week's round there is a massive grudge match between the eternally confident Darcy and a smarting Q Man who will be hellbent on avoiding back to back losses. In an amusing sideline, Dutchy's Dodos are continuing to ride high despite not being able to fly and the Q Man is not loving it ha ha. Expect Dutchy to continue his winning ways against the clueless smac this round.

Hondos Hard Nuts have still got the minerals and remain alone and unbeaten at the top of the ladder in Hogg Divison II, a league that is rapidly improving in the rankings and now outranks Hogg Division I in the SC league standings. The Cub is back in town in a big way after belting Buddy's Dealer and now gets to thrash his Uncle Dale who is coming off a loss to his sister. It's tough being in a family league let me tell you. In one of the better matches of the rounds Jacks Stars went within a whisker of knocking off holands heros in what would have been a massive upset. There appear to be some one sided 'contests' coming up in this round of SuperCoach but you can expect FNQ Trotters, Jacks Stars and Leisa's Lovelies to give plenty of cheek this week. As for Booney, no chance! ;)

You are on the hard side of the draw though. The worst team in our half of the draw is Brendamage and his side isn't that bad. Can't wait till I get to the percentage builders BazBulldog and Jake Lillies!

Hah, had you worried for a while there! Pitty I did and Adelaide and went to sleep in the second half.

Yep, I thought I'd jump on Giansiracusa and Stevens at their current bargain basement prices, very good replacements for the average Dale Thomas and Malceski. Despite the loss last week I'm pretty happy with the squad at the moment, especially with the prospect of Bock and Higgins returning this week. My only temptation at the moment is to get rid of Lucas for the emerging Nahas to give some forward line depth, but my trades are dwindling fast. Need to pick up a win soon though to stay in touch with the 8.
