Yeah but if you win next week you might move from 13th so the pressure is on.

Yep the jams will certainly be a challenge in the final round but I'm not looking that far ahead yet as I am playing against first, second, third and fifth on the ladder in the next four weeks!

With the top two sides looking pretty safe as far as the top four goes I reckon that we could also have our third and fourth sides already identified in this week's ladder. Crabby has been scuttling up the ladder for several weeks and more often than not he posts a very good score. He'll be hard to beat. Likewise Pump up ze jams who has overcome a slow start and is now in cracking form.

Some of the teams in the top eight behind them though are starting to look a little shaky even though it's tough to tell during the bye period. TEAM FISH might have already scaled the heights this year and could be sinking, Killer Wombats! are burrowing underground and the willies are starting to droop. WLF have been threatening to stake a claim for the top eight and are currently in but the pre-season number one seed will be looking at a top four spot if possible.

Outside the eight THE BLOODS are starting to flow nicely. The Backyarders are coming in from the cold in Pump up ze jams style and are an outsider for the top four but can make the eight on current form. The Sunny boys have been under a cloud earlier in the year but have been in handy form in recent weeks.

For the teams below the Pilots trouble looms. Trader suffered a very costly loss to fellow hardluck story FridayKnightFool and now both might miss the eight which is amazing when you look at the total points scored column in this league. The Fools are the only team I'd back to escape the relegation zone but the Lodgelads are better than they have been showing in recent weeks and I can see the the current bottom four being relegated here.

Well now that the dreaded byes are behind us I thought it'd be good to look back at the predictions REB made for Div III in the 2012 Hogg Shield Preview thread:
On March 21st Rik E Boy wrote:Hogg Division III
Greedy Guns should fire here and win this flag against any one of Harrynutts, Crab Mustard FC or Trader. If my mob make the top four pencil me in for another Grand Final loss. For relegation HOLLANDS HEROS are a Monty for the drop and I reckon TEAM_FISH will also struggle to stay up. Other teams in the gun are The Willies, Backyarders and BlueOwlOde.
Greedy Guns didn't get a crack at the Div III flag as they were elevated to Div II before the season started and are sitting comfortably mid-ladder there. REB's other contenders Harrynutts and Crab Mustard FC are looking good for a shot at the flag but Trader has never really recovered from all those narrow losses. There are plenty of other flag contenders but they need to make the finals first it is getting very competitive for a spot in the 8.

At the bottom end of the ladder REB's spoon contenders TEAM_FISH, The Willies, Backyarders and BlueOwlOde look like avoiding relegation however HOLLANDS HEROS look destined for Div IV next year.

Having said that virtually nothing is certain yet except that Harrynuts, The Cat Empire and probably Crab Mustard FC will not be relegated. I'm sure there will be lots of unexpected twists and turns left in the season bring it on and may the best teams win!

The Cat Empire is just as strong on paper as these two sides REB, but you have led us to believe your almost out of trades 8-[
Fish, looking forward to playing you this week, should be a good contest.

Playing Ze Jams in the Champions League this week, looks very evenly matched sides glad I've already played them in this Div.
I've got 4 out of the top 6 teams in the run home, could be a tough time for the Crabs. With minimal trades left fingers crossed for no LTI's

TEAM_FISH have outlined their quality this week with a top win against the macca's mighty Harrynutts combination. With the top four looking pretty sharp in this league FISH has done well and this win against the nutts has probably booked the FISHy ones a finals place. The Cat Empire has gone top of the ladder after ending The Backyarders' four match winning run and it was a near thing for Crab Mustard who fought back late to defeat the luckless Lodgelads.

Perhaps the most vital result this week was the win by brods Willies over Killer Wombats! Looking at their scores over the whole season there wasn't a lot in it and that was how this important match turned out as the Willies got up to win by 4 points. This puts the Wombats! in a dicey position in 8th spot with several competent teams lurking.

Is it just my imagination or was Dad (THE BLOODS) playing funny buggers with Sonny boy (Goonies) during this round? Either that or bazza jnr has some genuine bragging rights over Dad. Dropping matches against relegation candidates is not a good look if you want to make the finals. Speaking of which, FridayKnightFool has finally managed to string back to back wins together as the Fools flogged the Baby Giraffes by a long neck (I think that's the first time I've used that one this year). With Lodgelads being something of an 'unknown' quantity perhaps the Fools can stay up in Division III after all.

Yep I was pretty chuffed with my surprise win over the Nuts last week and until the various injuries/suspensions/omissions I thought I'd be half a chance in the "Deep Blue Sea Cup" (Fish v Crab) this week...

I've got those two teams over the next two weeks. Not great with Martin and Goddard out.

Looks like the "Deep Blue Sea Cup" will be closer than I thought, particularly with Cox and my new recruit Goodes scoring well.

CRAB: 232 points + Mitchell + Hawkins + Bugg

FISH: Lewis + Birchall + Adams + Giles + Smedts + Johnson

If my lot can get 300 I might just claw my way to victory, if not it's feeding time for your school who should be good for at least 500+
