I'd have Polec and Gaff ahead of him at a similar price, especially if Foley stays fit and Houli grabs his chance in midfield.

I'm not sold on Gaff either, but it is early days in the NAB Cup and we'll get to see more of him.

IMO, the only rookie 'lock' to emerge from the weekend was Mzungu.

A few more than that in my book.

No league games on the multi-bye rounds so you don't need to be as worried about the byes as those trying to get ranking points on the board

I have accepted that I will likely have 4-5 premiums missing in round 6 and will likely just live with it and hope my bench cover comes up

Exactly, so if you fill your team with Brisbane, Sydney, Fremantle and Melbourne players you do not need to worry about the byes as they have both their byes on during the multi bye rounds!

Now there is a Strategy! ;)

Absolute locks? Maybe I'm just being a tad harsh on some of the young lads.

A lot of focus on the Tiggers but remember the side that played in the ring a ring a rosey last weekend was packed with rooks. In midfield in particular they have Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and Nathan Foley to consider as well as recruiting Bachar Houli who might get a run in there as well.

Look to Essendon and in particular Brisbane for rooks as they are a chance of getting games. While Richmond will play a lot of young players many of these will be second year rather than genuine cash cows.

I like his chances, especially with Ibbotsen copping a two month injury this week.

I wouldn't read much into the side that played in rd1 of nab cup.

To be honest I don't know too much of Contin, but I would bypass for the reasons REB said

We should have a clearer idea on the Gold Coast rookies after this weekend

There's a whole lot of options there it's a matter of who will play from round 1

Yes you're right. Hopefully the NAB Cup can make it clearer as to who will play in their first game but it will still be a leap of faith for our starting teams because we won't know until round 2.

It's a pity because they seem to be a gold mine of rookies that will play regularly.
