I fear he will end up camped on my bench all season. It I trade him out it's only $90K spare cash or if I upgrade him it's at leat $300K more to get a really good player, let alone a gun which is another $100K again.

I guess we'll have to hope he can get clear to score some goals. The issue is that since Hentschell has been out, and then Gill, Walker is getting the first or second best defender and is struggling big time. At this stage of his career, he needs to be the 3rd or 4th forward.

Gordy's Blues continue to top the ladder after cleaning up Gingernuts on the weekend and Black Magic won the heavyweight bout between himself and Poon Army. The wonder elephants, a solid performer last year join Cub in the list of sides that have yet to open their account and Duncs is finding the Hogg Premier a bit tougher the second time around after doing so well in 2007. Match of the round this week is the inform Hawkeye up against the league leader GordonBlues. The surprise packet of the year in the chardonnays has an excellent chance to make life very difficult for Hammo's Poon Army who is currently resting in the unusual confines of the bottom eight of the ladder.

Four teams remain undefeated after three rounds of Hogg Division I but it is our very own Q Man and the very confident Darcy who are racking up the points here. Dutchy's Dodos paid the price for not scoring points when he finally played some half decent opposition and he wasn't up to doing some Fender bending. Ben's Gorillas climbed into the top eight after racking up a percentage booster against smac and Maria Sharapova gave Punky a serve in the battle of the duds. Last year Punky was a pretty good SuperCoach but this year he must have either cracked on to a hottie or someone's repossesed his computer ha ha. There is only two matchups between top eight sides this week when Darcy takes on LKIF and the match of the round between the Dodos and CoverKing so a real bully round coming up in Hogg Division I this week. Looking at the ladder it seems that this week is a real opportunity for WYCBLOODS to make some inroads after racking up his first career Hogg victory last week.

That's SCD's highest score for the year I reckon, so I'd say you've still got a good chance.

Holland's heroes hold on tight to the leadership of Hogg Division II with only REBCats and Hondos Hardnuts remaining undefeated after three rounds. My brother in law Dale snuck into the top eight and right behind him is Booney who racked up what I believe to be his first ever score of 2000+ in Hogg Shield football. In the match that will settle wooden spoon placings, random Jake Lillie's defeated Bazbulldog 'in the wet'. There were a couple of very close matches in Div II this week with the FNQ Trotters and Leisa's Lovelises just getting over the line. In this week's match ups there will be plenty of jostling for positions in the eight as Booney plays Mrs REB and the cobra's take on the Ginger Ninjas. However the match of the season so far in Divvy II is the blockbuster between Hondos Hard Nuts up against Holland's heros for outright leadership of the division. Incidentaly, this is the only Hogg league that has risen in rankings so far in the top three over the first three rounds.

Possible groin strain. No doubt they'll keep this topic under wraps down at Geelong. I suspect from Thomson's comments there's more to it, but maybe I'm looking too hard.

A six day turnaround against the physical Swans means that Gablett will probably miss next week. For the first time all season, those that don't have Ablett are smiling. I blame Gingernuts, Pup and all the other bandwagon jumpers. ;)

Last week decided to take the 2 trades needed to get G. Ablett. The best SC player this year. My lack of maths skills hurt me (or so i thought) as i left myself $500 short to get G.Ablett. I left the $700k + in the bank to use this round. Now with Richo in a bit of trouble this week and not making any other trades beside the one last week in the last two weeks. Iv got myself in a good position to get rid of the dead wood this round in anticipation for the match of the round clash. I will probably make a trade for someone of similar price but hopefully better scoring prospects. I should have enough to pick up G.Ablett if his value dropped this week and he does not playthis week. Hopefully stay undefeated after this round.

At least Holland's Heroes has Ablett too!

I am looking at a donut this week because I will potentially have Ablett, Hartlett and Anthony out :( Liam Anthony where the bloody hell are you!!!!

Don't have a solution yet and may just cop the zero. Problem being that Holland's Heroes will only have 2 out and his 6th midfieler is better than my 5th. He's got a gun midfield all round.

I still think Hartlett was a good pick up because he scored 73 from only half a game. But may have to wait 3 weeks for him now.

Nearly certain to miss 2-4 they think.

I am thinking about trading him.

If your goal is top four then I reckon you have to trade him. I'm playing the duddy Testaccio this week and I was hoping to have a donut and preserve the trade as Ablett missed his one match but if he misses a month it's too big a risk. It actually makes the competition interesting as everyone now won't have that universal selection. Remember that you want to have enough Do-Re-Mi to get him back in when he returns.

Here I was two weeks ago absolutely rueing the fact that I didn't have Gazza in my team - now I am stoked that I don't have to worry about him being the difference between my team winning/losing for 2-4 weeks!!

In contrast, as a fan of Gazza, I hope he gets back and plays again as soon as possible. Then he can have the best chance of snaring the Brownlow, which he thoroughly deserves.
