He is a ready made player. Has a strong body over the ball and is pretty efficient by foot. (from memory, i think he scored really well in the combine stuff at the draft). Supercoach wise, not too sure how he will go, doubt he will score as big as Swallow, but for his price he will be a bloody good cash cow. He adds something to our midfield for sure, with his ability to win the CB.

What do people think of Robert Murphy?

From memory he's been a pretty good scorer in the past, just had a rough year with injury last year.

Rob Murphy is made out of balsa wood and has exactly one good SuperCoach season, back in 2008. Um...no.

I'd have Polec and Gaff ahead of him at a similar price, especially if Foley stays fit and Houli grabs his chance in midfield.

I rate Bachar Houli. Hope he lives up to his potential but I had him all last year and the Bombers would only give him a game here and there.

From watching the Crows v Power game, love the look of Brodie Martin, while Ian Callinan also looks likely to be a regular.
Phil Davis and Ricky Henderson should be good mid-range players as well.
The backline should score particularly well in Dream Team given they seem to continue the trend of over-possessing the ball going forward. (FFS  )
As for the Power, urm, I didn't see much promise although I'm a little keen on Mitch Banner.

Probably the wrong thread here CK, but what do you think of Jake King as a leader? Interesting to see he was captain Sat night. On that note, I also heard JACKSON TRENGOVE is in Port Adelaide's leadership group.

Your best bet with power players is probably travis boak or kane cornes (the latter more so for DT). For rookies watch for Pittard (i think he will play early on) and ben jacobs (pending on how he recovers from glandular fever).

I think he is a good leader. I'm a fan of king, and in that side that we put out Sat night for the games, he was the standout choice. He was in career best form last year as a defensive forward last year. Not skilled but I like his effort and competitive nature

Kane Cornes is not a good bet for SuperCoach as he can burn the ball a bit. There is better value elsewhere. Kane is a mandatory selection for Dreamteam however due to his high possession rate. Boak is a contender but has an unknown cieling. Forget about Jacobs this year as Glandular Fever really knocks you on your arse.

I know as I had Shuey last year and got robbed of a golden cash cow as he missed plenty of footy.

Good points REB, whats your thoughts on pittard, fom what i saw on friday night he used the footy really well and new how to find it also. My only worry is there may be better options out there....

Pittard is an excellent Cash Cow option because Port are the last team to have a bye this season. This gives you a better chance to milk him* at the correct time. Wallis might be a better player but he won't get games early. If a league win is your goal Beams of Brisbane or Parker of Sydney might be a good get at around that price but remember those Gold Coast boys will have two byes in the first nine rounds so unless they are keepers you might want to think twice about selecting too many GC players which was a widely accepted team planning strategy a month ago.

Just on the byes - I'm pretty sure the rounds with more than one team on a bye will not be played as part of the competitions (ie Hogg Shield).

So unless you're gunning for the big prize surely you don't have to be as fanatical about them as some people suggesting.

That's right Gingernuts

No league games on the multi-bye rounds so you don't need to be as worried about the byes as those trying to get ranking points on the board

I have accepted that I will likely have 4-5 premiums missing in round 6 and will likely just live with it and hope my bench cover comes up

I'll have my hands full just avoiding relegation in the Hogg Premier this year, overall rankings will be the least of my concerns.

I'm not sold on Gaff either, but it is early days in the NAB Cup and we'll get to see more of him.

IMO, the only rookie 'lock' to emerge from the weekend was Mzungu.
