I know, thankfully I still have 7 trades up my sleeve. If only I could use all of them.

You evil man. And here's Q Man struggling to qualify for the finals and you've got trades to burn. Not too sure about Quiddy though with his injury run.

Four trades. Not sure if I'll use any this week as I'm a chance to win one of my other leagues and may need them during the finals.

And you're safe from relegation while Gingernuts is still vulnerable. Especially if I tank this week to get a softer first final in the Piglet.

THE RUN HOME

ROUND 15
darcy DTF vs Hawkeye
FOOTYLEDGENS vs chardy socialists
The Quiddities vs The Ginger Ninjas
Chicky's Crusaders vs GordonBlue
Darksiders SCE vs Boxheads Beauties
dunKsKrew vs Buddy&TheBoys
REBCats vs Squeakeroos
Brown nosed Fev vs Poon Army

1. Darksiders SCE (48)

The Reigning Premier has secured the Minor Premiership and is 12 points off the number one ranking in the Hogg. Reuben will be difficult to dislodge from his pedestal as the number one coach in the Hogg.

2. REBCats (44)

A top four spot is now assured for the REBCats who will do battle in the Qualifying Final against darcy DTF in two weeks time. This is an important final as the winner will get to avoid Darksiders SCE on the run in to the Grand Final.

3. darcy DTF (40)

darcy DTF was a surprise loser to the chardy socialists in Round 14 but like the REBCats this side is playing possum and keeping the powder dry for the finals next month. Darc plays Hawkeye in the last round so Woggy may be tempted to burn trades to ensure he remains in the eight but darcy DTF have the luxury of preserving remaining trades for the finals.

4. Chicky's Crusaders (36)

Chicky's Crusaders have marched into the top four on the back of some very solid form in recent weeks at a time when key rivals have been falling over. The 2008 Hogg Champion should hold on to fourth spot and will play Darksiders SCE in the first week of the finals.

5. Boxhead's Beauties (32)

Boxhead's Beauties have rebounded strongly to defeat dunKsKrew last week to ensure their first ever finals berth in Hogg Premier League. With a strong percentage Boxhead cannot miss the finals but will go in on the back of a loss as I don’t see them defeating Darksiders SCE in the final round.

6. GordonBlue (32)

Gordy’s poor form continued for another week when they fell to the unheralded The Quiddities who can somehow still make the top eight after appearing gone for all money. GordonBlue will qualify for the finals on the back of a 7-0 start to the season but since then they’ve only collected just the one win. This week they’ll be defeated by Chicky's Crusaders and Gordy looks set for a first week finals exit.

7. Hawkeye (32)

Hawkeye has swooped into the top eight on the back of a convincing win over FOOTYLEDGENS in the last round but they face a tricky assignment against darcy DTF in the last round. If Darc goes into trade preservation mode an opportunity exists for Hawkeye to snaffle a spot in the eight as darcy DTF doesn’t really need to win this week as his top four spot is secure. I reckon Hawkeye can win this week and make the eight which is something I didn’t see coming a few weeks back.

8. FOOTYLEDGENS (28)

The Cub is in a very vulnerable position after several key LEDGENS failed to make an impression on the scoreboard in the loss to Hawkeye. FOOTYLEDGENS must now rebound against chardy socialists to sew up their top eight spot but the chardies showed last week that they will not be a push over as they defeated GordonBlue. I reckon chardy socialists can beat FOOTYLEDGENS which would see the Cub miss the Hogg Premier finals for the first time ever.

9. dunKsKrew (28)

dunKsKrew have gone missing in the key weeks leading up to the finals and he appears to be feeling the loss of form of Jack Riewoldt more than fellow contender Hawkeye. Duncs has tumbled out of the eight after being thrashed by Boxhead's Beauties last week and his inglorious end to the season will continue as I reckon Buddy&TheBoys might get over dunKsKrew in the final round.

10. Poon Army (24)

The Poon Army survive another day despite going 6-8 following defeat to the REBCats last week. Poon still have a very good side on paper and they’ll need to be good to defeat Brown Nosed Fev who is in great form at the moment. I reckon Poon can record a victory over Fevnose in the final round and steal Cubby’s 8th spot. Poon Army could also go on and prove to be a nasty opponent for the loser of the Darksiders SCE vs. Chicky's Crusaders final as well…but he’ll have to get by probably Hawkeye first.

11. The Quiddities (24)

What the hell is this guy doing here? The Quiddities are a bit like the knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail ‘It’s only a flesh wound, it’s only a flesh wound’ ha ha. This side just refuses to die and remarkably, could still make the finals after results fell his way last week. The Quiddities need several results to go his way this week as well and I reckon he’ll get all but one of them to miss the top eight by a whisker to complete what has been a frustrating debut season in Hogg Premier.

REB’s Revised first week of Hogg Premier Finals Prediction

The top four have gone pretty much according to script as Chicky's Crusaders look to be on target to make the top four. The order has changed though as my REBCats have snuck past darcy DTF on the table but this doesn’t change all that much. Both of these sides could lose next week as they don’t have much to play for.

The bottom half of the eight changes on a weekly basis and Boxhead's Beauties have secured their final spot leaving only two spots up for grabs. I reckon Hawkeye can salute but FOOTYLEDGENS will lose. I think that Poon Army and The Quiddities will win but dunKsKrew will go out on a loss which leaves the following..

Qualifying Finals

Darksiders SCE vs. Chicky's Crusaders
REBCats vs. darcy DTF

Elimination Finals

Hawkeye vs. Poon Army
Boxhead's Beauties vs. GordonBlue

Hogg Premier Round 15

darcy DTF vs Hawkeye
FOOTYLEDGENS vs chardy socialists
The Quiddities vs The Ginger Ninjas
Chicky's Crusaders vs GordonBlue
Darksiders SCE vs Boxheads Beauties
dunKsKrew vs Buddy&TheBoys
REBCats vs Squeakeroos
Brown nosed Fev vs Poon Army

Chicky's Crusaders look set to qualify for the top four in Hogg Premier if they can sink an out of form GordonBlue outfit which is the likely outcome judging by recent results. A resurgent Hawkeye will be put to the test by darcy DTF but as mentioned in the Run Home post above don't be too surprised if darcy picks up a lower than average score as he plots his team selection movements for the finals. It wouldn't surprise if Hawkeye got up or if Squeakeroos beat the REBCats as teams safe and sound in the top four have bigger fish to Phillip J Fry.

Teams trying to fight it out for a spot in the top eight don't have that luxury and a tiring FOOTYLEDGENS side will be hard pressed to hang on to his top eight spot. On paper LEDGENS appear to have chardies covered but chardies, along with Brown nosed Fev have been giving plenty of cheek lately and the Cub could be gone. Boxheads Beauties doesn't have to and probably won't win against Premier Heavyweight Darksiders and the Poon Army might just sneak by Fevnose and qualify for a spot in the eight on the back of a less than impressive 7-8 record.

A Ginger Ninjas outfit with plenty of trades in reserve is not what the Q Man ordered in the last round as the Ninjas will be pretty keen to put the chop on Q Man and avoid relegation. Buddy&TheBoys can make life tough for dunKsKrew but he'll be suiting up for a relegation final against Brown Nosed Fev next week. I reckon the other relegation final will be between chardy socialists and Squeakeroos with both sides possibly coming off winning form. Either way teams who have won 4 to 5 matches out of 15 could find themselves being relegated from Hogg Premier in two weeks time. Tough school!

ROUND 15

Results
darcy DTF 2081 Hawkeye 1952
chardy socialists 2189 LEDGEN 1901
The Quiddities 2100 Ginge 1945
GordonBlue 2131 Chickys 2048
Darksiders SCE 2054 Boxhead 1924
dunKsKrew 1861 Buddy 1807
REBCats 2126 Squeak 2060
Brown nosed Fev 2136 Poon 2052

dunKsKrew has sensationally qualified for the Hogg Premier League finals after an unimpressive win over Buddy&TheBoys. FOOTYLEDGENS missed out as the chardy socialists racked up the highest score of the round to send him out of the eight. GordonBlue returned to form but didn't win by enough points to reclaim his top four spot from Chickys Crusaders.

The Quiddities finished 9th (where else) LOL and missed the eight after losing by a mere five points to Hawkeye a couple of weeks ago. In form Fevnose claimed another victim in Poon Army to eliminate the 2007 champion from this year's comp and Gingernuts escaped by the skin of his teeth as he teetered very close to the drop zone.

This year's bottom four looks to be the most competitive yet with the relegated sides being very unlucky to face the drop. Fevnose and chardy socialists have been last all year but are arguably the form sides of the comp over the last couple of weeks but one of them will be down in Division I next season.

Hogg Premier Finals Week One

Qualifying Finals
(Winners to Preliminary Final, Losers to play against Elimination Final winners)

1. Darksiders SCE vs. 4. Chicky's Crusaders
2. REBCats vs. 3. darcy DTF

Reigning premier Darksiders SCE is in prime position to defend his title with this week’s opponent Chicky's Crusaders dropping the ball in the final round last week. I expect Pup to rack up loss number two in a row as Darksiders advance. Meanwhile, my REBCats face the number one ranked team in the Hogg and with four players out of the REBCats lineup a win to darcy DTF appears to be the likely outcome in that match.

Elimination Finals
(Winners to play against losers of Qualifying Finals, Losers OUT)

5. GordonBlue vs. 8. Hawkeye
6. Boxhead's Beauties vs. 7. dunKsKrew

GordonBlue awoke from a late season slumber in time to rock and roll Chicky's Crusaders last week and set up a first up final with the inconsistent Hawkeye. I reckon that Gordy can salute here and live to fight another day. Despite Duncs’ confident prediction I am selecting Boxhead's Beauties to turn around the recent result between the two sides.

Relegation Finals
(Losers relegated to Hogg Division I)

13. Brown Nosed Fev vs. 16. chardy socialists
14. Squeakeroos vs. 15. Buddy&TheBoys

It is most unlucky that two sides who not deserve to be demoted are playing off against each other in a relegation final. Brown Nosed Fev’s recent hot streak could not quite get Fevnose out of the relegation zone and chardy socialists’ improved form couldn’t get them off the bottom of the ladder. As a result one of these two sides will pay the penalty to a poor start to the season and going on form that side will be the chardies. In the other finals, Buddy&TheBoys’ season never got off the ground and he’ll be a Division I coach next season as I think that Squeakeroos can beat Buddy’s Boys and hang on to his hard won spot in Hogg Premier.

Finals Week One

Qualifying Finals

Chicky's Crusaders 2137 d. Darksiders SCE 1900
darcy DTF 2281 d. REBCats 1915

darcy DTF is the new Hogg Premier premiership favourite after spanking the REBCats on the weekend. The Darksiders slipped up like so many other minor premiers this weekend and Pup's Chicky's Crusaders have advanced to the Prelim Final as the 2008 champion beat the 2009 champion in their final.

Elimination Finals

GordonBlue 2030 d. Hawkeye 2005
dunKsKrew 1925 d. Boxhead's Beauties 1676

Gordon won their first ever Hogg final with a 25 point elimination of Hawkeye while dunKsKrew's year will go on for at least another week as they ended Boxhead's best ever Hogg season.

Relegation Finals

chardy socialists 2083 d. Brown nosed Fev 1590
Squeakeroos 2074 d. Buddy&TheBoys 1635

The best way to avoid being relegated is to not get into Relegation finals in the first place and this would be something that Fevnose will tell after not giving a yelp against the chardies thus ending his Hogg Premier career and his recent run of good form. Parko hasn't gotten near it all season long and on current form would be lucky to make the finals in Division I next season. Squeakeroos did just enough to take part in Hogg Premier next year.

Hogg Premier Semi Finals
(Winners to Preliminary Final, Losers OUT)

1. Darksiders SCE vs. 5. GordonBlue
2. REBCats vs. 7. dunKsKrew

Darksiders SCE have gone from top of the heap to donut city in one deadly week and will need some shrewd moves to hold out an ambitious GordonBlue in this week’s semi final. If Darksiders SCE have the trades then he’ll be using them this weekend to hold out Gordy. I’m backing the more consistent Darksiders to hold out Gordy who I tip to go out in the Semi Final weekend just like last year. In the other final a confident dunKsKrew will face the REBCats on the rebound. Looking at that dunKsKrew side I can see a few weaknesses in there and I think that the REBCatters will claw their way out of this one.
