With just two weeks to go the chance to make Hogg history awaits the winner of the first ever Hogg Elite league. Man this league has been brutal. Week after week you play a gun side with the exception of when anyone plays me LOL. Blighty Teasdale's claim to fame as being the one time number one ranked side in SuperCoach has earnt him no brownie points as he sits stone motherless on the table after 14 matches. Les's Men have been enjoying a dominant season in the tough Hogg Division I but in here he is outside the eight. Captain Who has made the last two Premier League Grand Finals...in Elite he is a humble 14th.

Last year's number one ranked Hogg team Ben Rolfsbergers have got into the top eight at the right time. You would think that they would be good enough to go on with it from here. The Rolfs won by 29 points against their fellow Divvy I giants Les's Men. The number one ranked team of this year's Hogg is Hondo and they have been travelling beautifully this season, particularly in recent weeks. Hondo's latest victim was the Darksiders who remain in the top eight of all major competitions despite copping a lot more losses than they are used to in previous seasons.

eddieslittleindians remain a formidable force and while they are not putting a distance on major competitors in recent weeks they still are capable of scoring 2300 plus regularly as they did in their win over the faltering Cowboys last week. With two weeks left I'm backing Les's Men to make the eight with the most likely team to miss IMO to be Has Been.

Congratulations to eddieslittleindians who won the Minor Premiership in the best Hogg in the land after they cleaned up Cork in the Ocean in the 16th round. Second ranked Hondo came a cropper as MILLERS provided the boilover as they produced the kind of form that has eluded them for most of the season.

Fourth ranked Darksiders are either out of trades or sitting on eight in a brilliant strategy to secure the three main Hogg flags but you have to say right now he is easy pickings for any coach in the big three leagues. Surely Reignman is pulling a swifty here? If Darksiders are done then Underdogs, Corky or the Rolfs could all be the beneficiaries and swoop on that double chance spot. I'm playing Darksiders this week so I'm expecting him to make about eight trades for the match.

The bottom eight teams are now history so most of us don't have much to play for. Not so for Blighty Teasdale and Honda's Heroes. Both sides have really struggled but these two sides are playing of in a classic 'spoon day' confrontation. Scoring patterns of the season would suggest that Blighty will get the choccies and that Honda's will get the first ever Hogg Elite spoon.

Below are the matches coming up that will decide the final top eight spots.

Cork in the Ocean v Hondo SCC - Hondo to win this one so no top four spot for Corky.
Cowboys v Honey Badgers - Liking the Badgers in this one after their massive score last week. Cowboys look done.
MILLERS MOSQUITOES v Has Been - MILLERTIME again. A late season giant slayer and can go again.
TEAM_FISH v Les's Men - FISH have been game but Les will win this one and take Has Been's spot in the finals.
Darksiders SCE v REBCats - Cats to get the win over a disorganised Darksiders. A result that won't help either team.
Underdogs v Captain Who? - The Captain are done but can get over the Underdogs.
Ben Rolfsbergers v Squeakeroos DTC - A solid win to the Rolfs to snaffle the Darkside's top four spot.

So the Rolfs to take the Darkside's top four spot and Les's Men to boot out Has Been.

eddieslittleindians have so far proven themselves to be the BEST OF THE BEST SIR as Will Smith might say. Thanks to Sammy Mitchell the Indians claimed the scalp of the Reigning Hogg Premier champ to claim the Minor Premiership. Hondo finished runner up after scoring another good score as he cleaned up fellow top eight side Cork in the Ocean. Corky won't really be enjoying his multitude of Hondo matchups in recent times as he is ending up on the wrong side of the ledger.

Bens Rolfsburgers gets the chance for some payback after eddieslittleindians got the Rolfs in last year's Divvy IV finals. The Rolfs seemed to be stuck mid table but a brilliant late surge has seen them snaffle the double chance. The Rolfs don't have a good history in finals in the Hogg so they will be keen to turn that around in Hogg Elite and in Divvy I. If you don't turn it around soon your Monkey can turn into a Gorilla as I have found out.

Les's Men are another team that snuck into a position that seemed to be elusive for most of the year as they hooked a fading FISH and thus managed to turf Has Been out of the top eight. In the battle of the spoon the scoring patterns of the year did not prove to be a good guide as Honda's Heroes got the job done and handed Blighty their 16th loss and the wooden spoon in Hogg Elite.

Semi Final Results

Darksiders SCE 2206
Ben Rolfsburgers 2031

Q Before You 2203
Cork in the Ocean 2059

You might be in Hogg Elite league but when the shit hits the fan the shit hits the fan. Plenty of gun coaches were looking underneath the lounge for lost points as Elite coaches nationwide starting opening bakeries faster than a Collingwood player could clutch an injured limb. Ben Rolfsburgers must be cursing his luck. Due to their celebrity status, The Rolfs find scoring ridiculously easy but this week you couldn't even trust British Paints and it's all over Red Rover and maybe a taste of what Premier League might be like next year if they qualify. Meanwhile, Darksiders continue to make a mockery of my suspect SC tipping with yet another win.

Q managed to clean up a misfiring Cork in the Ocean but he's in more trouble than a John Farnham fan at an AC/DC gig with more missing than the St Kilda backline. Next week he only plays eddieslittleindians so he probably won't lose by more than 300 or so. :) Meanwhile, the Darkside of the force will be out to mesmerise Hondo who will be keen to avenge the defeat he suffered at their hands in last week's Premier League Semi. Game on, problem is....there's no players!

I have somehow managed to orchestrate one of my finest Hogg wins ever. Probably peaked a week too early though.

Preliminary Final Results

Q Before You 2545
eddieslittleindians 2451

Hondo SCC 1931
Darksiders SCE 1809

Q Man turned on an absolute blinder to smash out an impressive 2545 that would have beaten anyone in the Hogg this week to prevent eddieslittleindians from taking out the Elite-Champions-Div II treble. Poor old MAY-Z will just have to be happy with two flags this year. ;) In the other final the quality wasn't there as both Hondo and Darksiders had their teams nobbled by the late season SuperCoach carnage.

Hondo shocked the world when he actually won a final but I don't think he'll be shocking anyone next week based on the above numbers. Hondo faces the Herculean task of finding six hundred points in order to prevent a rampaging Q from winning the inaugural Hogg Elite League. For those teams that are out of the running (well, that's most of us), the numbers news is better. Hogg Elite is now ranked 54 and has really climbed the rankings since the Carnage season has set in. It would be nice to go a few better in the last round and crack the top 50.

Yep. A bit of a worry for me as I got my sums wrong. Ten leagues, twenty Grand Finalists. Luckily there are a few double ups so every team that made the Grand Final are in the Champions League, as are the Preliminary Finalists of the highest ranking league..which is this one.
