I'll be there, but i have to say it is the worst line up EVER for a big day out!

Purchased my ticket before the second announcement thinking there would be some good international acts but was very unhappy when that was released also.

You only have to take a look at the big day out website/forums to see alot of peoples dissapointment at what is usually the best musical event of the year!

But hey its always a great day so get drunk, perv and enjoy!

Worth the money just to see THE STOOGES alone. Nice of them to throw in The Beasts of Bourbon as a bonus as well. Apparently there are some other bands playing as well.......

Have been to the last 4 BDO's,sadly though this years line up does not inspire me to spend the $250 plus that it will invariably end up costing me.$120 on a ticket and at least the same for Extra Dry cans, and to see no one of real note. The White Stripes should be on at about 7:30,not the headliners at 10:00.

Beastie Boys were awesome last year,Metallica just rocked two years ago,the Foo Fighters and The Prodigy before that.Nothing of that calibre this year.

Having said all that, fair chance I decide to pull a sickie the night before and infuriate the wife with a missive withdrawl* on the Friday morning.( No jokes about the withdrawl please).
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I will probably end up going even though the line up is pretty ordinary. Haven't missed one in the last 6 years. It's always a great day.

Not for me this year, whilst there are a couple of bands I wouldn't mind seeing I agree with Daniel, the headline acts are nowhere near the calibre of those in previous years imo

Iggy was old at the FIRST BDO, let alone this one 15 or so years later. ZZzzzzzzzzzz....

Does the Big Day Out clash with North's trip to the Top End? North are going to Darwin on the 3rd of Feb, is the BDO Fri the 27th, or Fri the 3rd?

Still dunno if ill bother this year. Worst lineup theyve ever had....and charging $110 for it pfffttt. Usually there is about 10-11 bands I want to see...this year its about 4. I know that if I go ill have fun anyway...but its expensive fun for only a small handful of bands that have me interested. Might save my money this year I think.

I would have liked to have seen Franz Feridpants, the Living End and Wolfmother but it wouldn't have been worth it as I've already caught the Living End and the Mother in pubs so it would have basically been $100+ just to see Franz Ferdipants.
Luckily the North trip to Darwin made it easy for me to decide. :)

Just back from Melbourne BDO. The Stooges were absolutely awesome. One of the best gigs I have seen in my life (and I've seen a one or two). How the guy can perform like that at 59 and after the life he has lead is beyond me. Did stuff from the first two albums (nothing off Raw Power - don't mention John Williamson I mentioned him once but I think I got away with it). Down on The Street, 1970, TV Eye and I wanna be your dog were the standouts in a GREAT set.
Also caught part of the Living End. Not my cup of tea but tight as a ducks **** and went off. The Beasts of Bourbon were incredible (again). Saw them in August last year and they are playing as good live now as they ever have. Franz Ferdinland.....pass.

You call yourself a punk and you are not going to see The Godfathers of the genre. Oh shame.
