Well, one of the original ring-ins anyway...

They have just cancelled their Japanese tour as seems to be the case wherever they go. I wouldn't buy tickets with any conviction.

Support is Sebastian Bach from Skid Row (!) and the equally hilarious Rose Tattoo!! LOL - no doubt chosen cos they have 'Rose' in the title to stroke Axl's ego as mentioned by lizbeff.

just got this email -

Lead vocalist W. Axl Rose, guitarists Robin Finck, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, and drummer Frank Ferrer are a rock 'n' roll spectacular that have to be experienced to be believed.

Or because Skid Row (used to love them) and Tattoo were the support act the last time they toured??

Speaking of which, did any/many people here get to Calder Park or wherever it was they played in Sydney in the early 90's?

G'N'R Summed up

Lies: Patience a good song but the rest is shit (truly awful song themes and the live half atrocious)
Appettite for Destruction: Classic hard rock album, one of my favourite 80's discs
Use your Illusion I & II: Overblown and should have been a single album - waaaaaaaay too much filler
The Spaghetti Incident: Pure crap

No slash, no way.

Went to the calder park show. Great weather on that day.
Blistering heat followed by a dust storm followed by turetial rain.
Pearls and Swine we're the other support that day.
Rose Tattoo we're the only band that sucked that day.

Coma is the best way to end an album (UYI II), a 10 minute roller coaster of a song where the final 2 or 3 minutes are just Axl singing non stop, hardly even taking a breath. At the end of it, you just think, wow, that was ******* awsome.

The Spaghetti Incident did have some really good songs on it - New Rose, Down On The Farm, Raw Power, Aint it Fun, Attitude, I dont Care About You. Couple of duds too, but for a bunch of covers, it could have been worse.
