WET WET WET I think had the number one rated hit off all time[or top3 ?]
in a survey a few years ago.
About 1962 or thereabouts a band called THE TROGGS [in my top 25] sang
the original version.
I actually saw the TROGGS in the late 70s or early 80s live in Adelaide in a nightclub.

REM did a cool version of it a few years before WWW (around about the time they made an album with Reg Presley - 'Athens Andover')
