howdy all.

i am a massive beatles fan and recently at a wedding the DJ was playing tracks from this album. now we have all heard these songs before, but let me tell you, the sound so bloody different.

i bought the album the following week and was mesmerised!

so i seriously recommend it!!!

Glad someone mentioned this. I wanted to hate it, being a huge Beatles fan, but it is as you say JB, mesmerising. At any point you can hear nuances from 4 or 5 tracks at once, so seamless that you begin to think 'was it always like that?'

Initially I was very critical but now the only criticism I have is that I wish it was a little MORE ambitious. I could listen to the mashup of Tomorrow Never Knows / Within You, Without You all day.

This coming from someone who absolutely despises Cirque de Shite as well! :D

By the way, last weekend I spent an entire day converting my Beatles vinyl to 6 discs of crystal clear CD goodness. It was worth it too :)
Yesterday I converted my 80s 7"s to CD also. I'm not so sure it was worth it. Safety Dance anyone?

Yes, it is fantastic. Tops off the work of the Beatles and more specifically George Martin quite brilliantly. That arrangement of Blackbird through to Yesterday is amazing as is the seamless chopping and changing of songs from different eras (i.e. I am the Walrus goes straight through to a screaming crowd for I Want to Hold Your hand). Highly recommended whether you're a huge Beatles fan or just in to music in general.

Bit like 'The King' Elvis Presley... He made a shitload more money after he carked it!
The sad thing about 'The Beatles' is that the song rites are owned by none other than
that sick freak Michael Jackson!!!!! :x
So this kiddy fiddler's gonna use the profits of such classic tracks as 'Get Back' & 'In my life' to pay off
the parents of the next pre-pubescent he takes a more than unhealthy shine towards! :x

You're sort of right, he and Sony jointly own ATV/Northern Songs which represents most but not all of the Beatles catalogue.

Does anyone know if that classic 1968 Beatles animated film
'Yellow Submarine' is available on DVD yet? :?
I used to love that flick when I was a little kid!
I wonder if the villains the 'Blue Meanies' were named as a
60's drug reference to the Psilocybin (magic) mushroom!
