I had a bingle on the way home this evening. Car pulled out in front of me. Nothing too serious, just some panel damage - I hope. Off to the panel beaters for an assessment tomorrow.

At the time of impact the stereo was playing "Good Morning, Good Morning" from the Beatles' Sgt. Peppers album.

The last time I had a bingle - well over a decade ago - I remember I was listening to Severed Heads "Come Visit The Big Bigot" album. Pretty sure it was up to the track "Legion".

So, what were you listening to when you had a crash, bingle, altercation, or any other road issue of note? Has it altered your perception of the song?

No.

That said, I don’t say to her as often as I used to, Could you just repeat that but with more information?

My dear wife has an extremely annoying habit of massively over reacting when she sees or perceives a road hazard whilst I’m driving ... she’ll just start screaming.

In 99.999% of cases, it’s a hazard I’ve already seen and have in control, but her reaction creates unnecessary panic.

It used to be worse, in the pre GPS era (for the kiddies watching, this was a time when we used road maps and directories, yes physical books, that had to be purchased every year to incorporate updates) she was the navigator, and left vs right wasn’t and still isn’t her strongest point (we settled on driver vs passenger side instead), plus her being from Venus and me from Mars caused further issues.

Luckily in nearly 33 years of marriage, and despite some near misses, no accidents have been caused by this behaviour.

back many decades ago i rolled my brand new car just out of kanmantoo in horrid weather.

My car ended up no more motor of love but on the scrap heap
