is Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, FFS.

He's already done live shows with STP and already recorded a song with them.

Weiland is & will always be the voice of STP.

Bennington will never be anything more than an STP fanboy. This is seriously f**ked...

Hope he doesn't use autotune live with them like he did with LP at soundwave

He's not good enough to lick the crud from Weiland's undies.

Yes he is and it is pretty embarrassing....but having said that only a handful of bands have "pulled it off"......

Van Halen - David Lee Roth and replaced with Sammy Hager
AC/DC - Bon Scott and replaced by Brain Johnson

There has been some massive FAILS too.....

Van Halen when Sammy left replaced by Gary Cherome from Extreme.
INXS when Hutch passed away with the Rockstar TV show.....(some minor hit songs)

This just looks like a disaster really....fans wont buy it. Mind you Weiland has some major issues he is dealing with and as I have heard - He has a massive EGO too (ask Slash about the Velvet Revolver experience!)

That said - Weiland really is STP!!

Spot on mate, although I did enjoy Van Halen III. I think I'm the only one who did...

I actually did not mind it and over time has grown on me than when it was released. Just really did not sell (compared to previous sales of albums) and was a big FAIL for VH at the time.

I can't say I'm a fan of the new album though...

Like half the album ....the other half of it....mehhhh!!!

It was actually mostly demos from the late 70s.

I heard that, and it sounds like they're out of ideas...

Once Michael Anthony on bass was booted out of the band and Eddies son took over as a 14 year old .... I was suspicious the album was going to be average and mediocre :(

Michael Anthony gets NOWHERE near as much credit as he is due.

Can you guys please not ruin this STP thread by talking about bloody Van Halen!

Everytime I catch up with my younger brother he plays me his 'Jump' ringtone just to piss me off ;)

Sorry mate. Back on topic.

I have given 'Out of Time' a few listens, and Bennington is doing his best Weiland impersonation, but is merely an impostor.

Things really deteriorating between STP & Weiland:

http://www.tonedeaf.com.au/news/interna ... 68/stp.htm

Not a good look for Weiland when Slash & Duff from GNR/Velvet Revolver joined this new version of STP on-stage to play a Bowie cover.
