Phil Ramone dies aged 79
Posted: Sun Mar 31, 2013 11:03 pmHe was the co-founder of A&R recording in 1958 and who he has produced is a whose who of the recording industry including Karen Carpenter, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder and Rod Stewart amongst many others.
Nominated for 33 Grammy Awards, winning 14, he also was one of the pioneers of the "CD"
