Who would be in your ultimate band?

Postby Failed Creation » Thu Nov 01, 2012 7:08 pm

I was just thinking, if you could take 1 member from each of your favourite bands (living or dead) to form a fictional 'supergroup', who would you pick?

I'd choose:
Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, etc etc) - Vocals, electronics.
Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, solo projects) - Guitar, backing vocals.
Geddy Lee (Rush) - Bass, backing vocals.
Dean DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots, Army of Anyone, Talk Show) - Guitar.
Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Adrenaline Mob, Flying Colors, etc) - Drums, percussion.
Richard West (Threshold) - Keyboards.

Good call. I've seen them live twice. They're quite brilliant really.

Me too, '02 at the BDO and '03 at Heaven.

Unfortunately won't be adding to that with Soundwave next year.

That was from when Tomahawk played live on Channel V on their '02 tour here.

This was the other song they played 'Flashback':

Nor will I, regrettably. How awesome was the Heaven show, with Fantomas and Melvins? Buzz Osbourne punched me in the knee walking out an exit. He was friendly though.

Unfortunately I was with a couple of nongs so missed a bit trying to slink away to the other side of the venue. I had already seen Fantomas a couple of times and only remember them playing a super short set but I remember the Melvins vividly. Their bass player at the time Kevin Rutmanis (Tomahawk's old bass player, the guy in the vids) was so off his head it was hilarious. I remember all he was wearing was an old ped style trenchcoat, a pair of boxer shorts and a pair of socks and looked like he was going to fall over any second.

That sounds like something Buzz would do! ;)
