With Australian rock almost completely dead, some of you may be interested to know the rock music scene in New Zealand is alive and well. A major reason why it is so rich is radio. Where Australia's choice in radio is disgusting, the Kiwi's have plenty of "choice".

Here's a few current Kiwi bands getting airplay on The Rock. Last 2 are my faves.

Always been a fan of Kiwi Rock.

Your right SG...Aussie music scene is dead.

Record companies just dont support them anymore....also the same with the live scene.

We are just "fed" with this Voice, Idol, Oz got talent crap and "lap" it up like sheep (not pun intended for New Zealanders)!!

Sorry mate. I'll fix the links tonight.

Clap Clap Riot "So you say" is the song I have stuck in my head.

The links are there MG

Some great Rock there, I particularly like the 2nd, 3rd and 2nd to last.

The Aussie music scene is alive and well at local level, but I have to agree at a national level, it is dead.
There are great rock acts playing in pubs all over Australia for a pittance but with absolutely no support from commercial radio stations or recording companies that is where they stay, unheard by all except a few family and friends that follow them from gig to gig.

Good thread TSG,

I actually listen to the internet feed of Hauraki during the day at my desk instead of the Australian alternatives.

So You Say is a great song, but i've been getting more into King Cannons especially Shot to Kill.
Also love a good bit of Lugar Boa, but didn't like there last song as much.

I had shot to kill up as a link but looks like it disappeared.

Can't get haurakai? working properly at work over the wifi so we can't swap around.

Is as I spelled it. (for once my spelling was correct)

Shot to Kill is coming up ok as a link to me, sadly if I click on any you tube video at work my computer goes to the blue screen of death.
