Time Magazine has compiled a list of their selections as the 100 Greatest Songs of All Time. The list is not released in any order, apart from chronological (1920's - 2000's), but some surprised me, to be honest.

Borderline - Madonna ?? :? Wouldn't even make my top 10 Madonna songs, should I ever be bothered to compile that list
Joelene - Dolly Parton :?

Interesting cross section of stuff. Personally wouldn't have Rock and Roll by Velvet Underground would have had "I'm waiting for the man". Also whether you love or loathe the Sex Pistols they changed everything so in my opinion (and maybe a few others) God Save The Queen should be in there.

No room for Flash's "The Message".

Far more important - and funkier - song than "Fight the Power".

If there was one rap song from the 80s...

Agreed.

Imagine putting songs from this century in a greatest of all time list. What crap.

There's a couple of Bessie Smith B-sides that surely should be on there.
