Meatloaf: The Flogging a dead Horse Tour

I can't believe that anyone would have attended Meatloaf's concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre this week. Clearly the AFL hasn't penetrated the Northern markets as much as Andy Demetriou had hoped because people actually turned up to hear the Loaf live.
Apparently he sucked arse yet again and the exodus of fans from the Ent Cent was worthy of any Blackbirds fan leaving home seven minutes before the end of the last quarter to beat the traffic.
Meatloaf - Like a bat out of hell, he's gone gone gone.
regards,
REB

Brisbane Entertainment Centre one week, Royal Coach Motor Inn the next.
Interesting to note that, on Mix 102 this morning when I flicked over for 5 minutes, they were giving away tickets to his concert for their morning competition.
As a consolation prize

He sold out the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for his upcoming concert but that was prior to the GF. I actually might have got a ticket if it wasnt sold out. Am glad it was now.

Gee....suprises me that people would want to see him. (could work out the type though!!

)
Sounds like the Whitney Houston/Barry White tours of Australia.
Must give Meatloaf some credit.....at least he does not mime like many other acts that have massive backing tracks on the vocals that I have seen in recent times.

Forgive me if I've missed something but he appeared to have a real vacant stare for a lot of the time at the GF as if he was off his head.

TWO Out of Three Ain't Bad - but was it asking too much of Meat Loaf to hit one out of three notes?
The sad truth from his Adelaide Entertainment Centre show last night is that - as evidenced by his AFL Grand Final performance - Mr Loaf's voice is completely shot.
Let me say that I love Meat Loaf's music and have spent decades tracking down everything from his obscure 1960s single with Popcorn Blizzard to all the albums that weren't called Bat Out of Hell 1, 2 or 3.
So it breaks my heart to hear Meat strangling out the words: "I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell" and know that it tolls for him.
Oddly, in the wake of his Grand Final debacle, Meat's Adelaide concert completely sold out and his fans cheered and gave him rousing ovations - even if just to will him across the finish line.http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertain ... 6171819028

MEAT Loaf has slammed AFL bosses as "jerks" and labelled critics of his performance at the Grand Final as "butt smellers".
In an explosive interview with the Sunday Herald Sun, the 64-year-old US singer vowed to convince other artists not to perform on the biggest day of the AFL calendar.
Meat Loaf's performance at the MCG this month was described by punters as the worst AFL entertainment.
Meat Loaf blamed the AFL for not providing a live piano or offering enough time for a sound check.
He said parts of his performance were out of time and flat because he was singing to a tape and could not hear the music in his earpiece.http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/mu ... 6174045186

ha ha, and his excuses for his own concerts?
There's a big difference between being flat and not even being able to sing.

Perhaps he should have exposed a breast like Janet Jackson did at a Superbowl a few years ago
The tour should have been called Flogging a dead bat tour
