Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in London, it has been reported.

The Back To Black singer was apparently found at 4pm and her death is believed to be unexplained.

Winehouse had been seen with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield earlier this week as the teenager took to the stage at the iTunes festival.

While she didn't perform any tracks, Winehouse apparently begged the crowds to buy Dionne's album.

A source said: 'Amy staggered onstage and grabbed the mic to beg the crowd to buy her protege’s new album.'

Winehouse's appearance at the concert came after she cancelled her European tour following a disastrous performance in June when she stumbled onto the stage in Belgrade and gave an incoherent performance appearing very disorientated and removed from reality.

Following the concert which saw fans enraged and the subsequent video that circulated to millions she cancelled the remaining dates of her European tour.

A statement released by the troubled singer's spokesperson said that the 27-year-old would be given 'as long as it takes' to recover.

The statement read: 'Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances.

'Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen.'

RIP Amy Winehouse

A very talented singer gone too soon.

27 is the magic number. Cobain, Hendrix, Jopilin, Morrison, Jones....

This is where we'll agree to disagree Dedja - no one should glorify the death of a junkie, whether they can sing or not.

She chose the lifestyle and paid the price... I'm sick of the media classing it as "tragic". Something cannot be "tragic" when it's expected.

Millions of people die every day of drug overdoses - we going to glorify them too?

I was only saying to my hairdresser yesterday that I'm surprised she's not dead yet!! Then wake up this morning to find out she is! Freaky.

I had a close encounter with Amy when I was in London. I was coming out of the toilet cubicle, she went in after me. She was so tiny and haggard. Looked a lot older than she was. What a waste of talent. She could have had everything if she wanted it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion FC, but having spent many years working in drug and alcohol rehab I can't begin to tell you how offensive I find that.

I agree, it's a little harsh.

Imagine if we said that after every person who died from smoking related health issues. After all smokers are just junkies of a different kind if you want to look at it that way.

I doubt you'll find any drug addict that wants to be addicted. Just like most smokers keep saying they want to give up but never do. It's an addiction for FFS. Some are strong enough to overcome it others aren't for various reasons.

She had access all the resources in the world and was too stupid and stubborn to use them.
Another fool who chose to self medicate.
Much easier to have sympathy for others in less privileged positions.

Why? You should know how hopeless these people are then. She didn't exactly have a tough upbringing.
