Not a band exactly but I've been making some tunes with a guy in the UK via the marvels of the interweb. Am getting a CD out to community radio stations this week. Be kind :)

Yikes, the silence is deafening. Oh well, if you're feeling generous, please give us a (hopefully glowing) rating on Triple J Unearthed. Cheers!

Listened to it last night ZZ......

Glimmer is my favorite track.....I really liked that.

Reminds me a bit of some of Steve Kilbey's solo work of the late 80's......hope your not offended by that ZZ.

Will throw a vote in for you for triple J.

Keep up the good work ;)

I like it! But hardly suprising seeing I like all your influences as well.
Hey ZZ were you in any bands in the early 90's that I might have seen and/or played on my radio show? PM me if you're shy :D

Bit slow and ambient for my current tastes, but they're quality tracks ZZ.

I like the short version of 'But We Can Still Fly' the best.

Really appreciate the feedback folks.

southee - definitely not offended!

LL - in the mid-late 90s I was in this band http://www.myspace.com/moseisleyaustralia (a little less ambient for you Quichey!), there are even some pics on there from a ThreeD Birthday Bash we played, I'm not sure if you were there at that stage or not. I was an announcer too at that time...I'm sure our paths would have crossed if you were there then

Okay. Doesn't ring a bell. I left mid 95 but did less and less the last year I was there as I was doing stand up comedy at the time, and didn't see as many bands as I use to.

ZZ, what software are you using?

Shane uses Cubase and a bunch of vst plugins for the guitars - no live instruments which I'm constantly amazed about. He's just done a version of Joy Div's Ceremony which sounds like they are in the room...
Me, nothing too exotic. Just been using audacity for vocals and to edit the track stems. FL Studio for a little tinkering

Thanks ZZ. Cubase is the shit, wish I had the time to master it.

Definately has a British vibe, sounds good. Some well crafted tracks, probably liked "Be There" the most, enjoyed the covers too.

Oh, and please listen via the TripleJ player. Both tracks were in the electronic Top Ten for a couple of weeks but are starting to drift southerly...so please play and then play some more!

Hey Zipzap - just wanted to let you know that as an announcer of over 10 years on Three D Radio, I put football prejudice aside and gave Glimmer a spin during the week... Slotted nicely between Battles and Sugarcubes... :D

Firstly, let me say that I really liked the songs I listened to. "Glimmer" is great.

I am no musical expert but my layman observation is that there is a British 1980s, new-wave influence going on which I like. Slightly reminiscent of Joy Division or Depeche Mode maybe? That synth-pop sound with the drum machine pounding away makes me think it could be on the Trainspotting soundtrack.

Please forgive my layman observations if they offend. Well done mate.

Don't offend at all - I'll take comparisons with Joy Div and Depeche any day :)

Brilliant, really appreciate it! What show do you do?
I've been listening in but haven't heard it yet. I was wondering if they have it marked as a local demo or general release? Might have a better chance as a local demo but the UK connection might mean it will get lost in the crowd...Chris from Juke Box Jungle was going to play it Friday night but I was at the footy :(

Thanks again :)
