Falls Festival

The first lineup announcement yesterday. In all seriousness someone needs to tell Wolfmother to give it a rest, enough already.
The Falls festival really need to use some imagination in their bands, a great way to spend New Years all the same. A great experience if you haven't been.

The Falls Festival, held over two nights simultaneously in Marion Bay, Tasmania and Lorne, Victoria, has announced it’s first run of bands.
In the predictability stakes, Michael Franti and Spearhead will return to Australian shores again, and Wolfmother will continue their mission to play almost every Australian festival in 2006.
Modest Mouse bring the indie cred to the festival, while the John Butler Trio (who are back after a considerable absence), Josh Pyke and The Audreys lay the mood back and give it a nice massage while it’s getting comfortable.
You Am I promise to rock the kid’s socks off, while Youth Group add their loveable guitar pop.
Saul Williams will inspire the poets in the audience whilst rocking their socks off, and The Black Seeds will inject a healthy dose of groove into the night.
The Festival is held across two nights, climaxing on New Years Eve. It has been going for over ten years and is one of Australia’s longest running festivals.
The complete lineup is Wolfmother, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Modest Mouse, You Am I, Youth Group, The Bees, John Butler Trio, Josh Pyke, The Audreys, Blue King Brown, Saul Williams, The Black Seeds and Jamie Lidell.
Tickets are on sale August 16 at 9am, but as we warned you, 50% of those tickets have already gone to newsletter subscribers. So with just 50% left, get in quick smart!
