I think I will find this collection hard to resist, especially the vinyl edition.

Awesome, sorted there is Dads fathers day present.

Kind of off topic but what is everyones favourite Floyd album.

For me its 'Dark Side of the Moon' very closely followed by 'Meddle'

Tough one. Can't split Meddle, Animals or Wish You Were Here.

A lot of Floyd is really good but some of it is just flat out wierd. I never got the Syd Barrett era with only a few songs sounding ok even if they sound terribly dated today.

As for rating Wish you were here and Meddle above Dark Side and The Wall, well....

I also reckon that Momentary Lapse cops a bad rap even if it does tail away a bit towards the end. A few extra hours in the studio for that one could have produced another classic Floyd cut instead of the almost universally panned effort that it became.

Momentary Lapse of Reason rarely receives the recognition it deserves, there isn't too much dud material on it. In fairness, though, its virtually a Dave Gilmour solo album under the Pink Floyd album, and fair to say that Gilmour is somewhat autonomous at the best of times and not likely to have listened to much input at the time on the album.

I haven't listened to the whole album for ages, but it isn't too bad -better at least than what I remember of The Final Cut.
Yeah it's mostly Gilmour, although there were collaborations with non-Floyd personnel Jon Carin (keyboards in concert) and another guy called Anthony Moore. I think the lack of Waters' "ruthless" creative approach is apparent in some tracks though.

Anyway, looking forward to the new 5.1 mix for Wish You Were Here, should be really good.
Doesn't look like The Wall will get the same treatment, but it would be well suited to a surround mix.

I rate DSOTM and The Wall. Just enjoy the others more.

Momentary lapse of Reason is a bloody sensational album. I remember getting it on CD back in 1987 (13 years old) and was really mesmerised by the sounds on it. So crystal clear.....

Bob Ezrin did a great job producing it like he did with The Wall.

I would rate this 1st with Wish You Were Here just behind it. ;)
