For 80's fans....reforming are...

The classic lineup of Van Halen, with David Lee Roth :)

Recording a new album and apparently touring, including Australia, to support it. Already preparing for that one - one band I've always wanted to see live with this lineup.

This may be old news, BTW, but I have only just found out today.

Yes CK. Touring Australia ...so I really hope Adelaide is included on the tour.

Unfortunately, Micheal Anthony is not with them on bass guitar as he got "fired" from Eddie.
To replace him Eddie's son, Wolfgang, is on bass.
I think he is about 17 years old or something.

Im a little wary of this show as I have seen alot of bands doing a "come back" tour of such and have been disappointed.

...but this one is hard to resist for me ;)

I would say buying tickets early could be a bad investment. Tour could implode quicker than the Bays at finals time.

Do agree with that. Buyer beware with this.

Roth could sing pre 1984 songs like Jump, Hot for Teacher, Unchained etc...but after 1984??

Can he sing like Sammy with Dreams, When its Love, Poundcake, Best of Both worlds etc.....??

Could be interesting to say the least.

Fair points, TSG and Southee. I might wait to see what the early signs are. The thought of David Lee Roth singing "Dreams" or "When Its Love" did make me wonder.

Perhaps we will see music's version of the new "substitute" rule. After Lee Roth does all of the pre-84 stuff, he will be subbed out and Sammy Hagar subbed in to complete the show.

I reakon they did this a few years back- Hagar and Roth did a dual show (without Halen)

Another reforming band from the 80s is New Order - Gillian is back in the fold but no Hooky, he's been busy slagging off the others while making cheap dollars tearing up the legacy of Joy Division...

Peter Hook has NO shame.

I'm looking forward to Paul Simonon touring and playing London Calling and Combat Rock back to back.

Walked past the Enmore Theatre last night.

Crowd lined up outside were unusually all 40+.

Without exception.

Then I saw the marquee.

The Pointer Sisters.

Were the crowd excited?
Could they hide it?
Were they about to lose control and did they think they like it?

Hey CK !!!

Scott Carne (Kids in the Kitchen) Grace Knight (Eurogliders) Brian Mannix (Uncanny X Men) and Pseudo Echo are getting together for a one off show at Crown Casino in Decemeber.

(Mrs Lindner had threatened to take me if I don't behave ;) )

Scott Carne (Kids in the Kitchen) Nope, didn't get into their stuff Grace Knight (Eurogliders) Quite liked the Eurogliders actually, wouldn't mind if she did some of the "Come In Spinner" stuff also Brian Mannix (Uncanny X Men) Not for their music, but I reakon that Myf Warhurst would turn up to see him, so that would be enough for me :D   and Pseudo Echo Don't mind their stuff, but I reakon another poster here would be much keener than me to see Mr Canham ;) are getting together for a one off show at Crown Casino in Decemeber.

I've seen worse lineups :)
