Very spooky how the killer was in the audience of the music video "Imagine"

I used to love the song "Imagine" but over time, it's slipped a long way down my list. Not sure if this is due to me learning more about the sort of person John Lennon could be at times, or the overall message of the song vs his own, fairly wealthy, circumstances.

His name was Mark Chapman.
In the Imagine video several years before he shot John Lennon, Mark Chapman can be seen several times in the crowd.

Also, hours before he shot John Lennon, he asked him for an autograph.

I can't find an image capture of him in the audience at the John Lennon concert but will have a look.

Amazing how people get so infatuated with famous people.
I think Neil Diamond had someone follow his every move for years and Neil actually paid for this persons rehab.

John Lennon-A Salute to Sir Lew Grade April 18, 1975

This was the concert where Mark Chapman was in the crowd.
The bloke in the tux just above Lennons left hand.

That's a myth. Someone just said that at the time as the only photo of Chapman available to the press was him in a tux (his prom photo I believe) and the guy in this video looks a bit like him in that photo. Someone tracked the guy in the video down and it wasn't Chapman.

I've been looking online to find out either way LL and can't find anything.

The person who told me it was Chapman was positive it was, or have they been done by the myth as well ?

It first started the rounds about two - three weeks after the killing. It gathered quite a bit of momentium until finally on of the music mags overseas (can't remember which - may have been Rolling Stone) tracked the guy in the clip down, or went he to them.

8th December 1980 in Melbourne was a stinking hot ( ) day
when the news came over the radio at 4.20 pm.
Greg Evans was still a dj on 3XY when he announced the news and
subsequently the remainder of his shift was full of Beatles/Lennon material.

Wow!! Being a massive Beatles fan I have never seen this.

Imagine being in the crowd and this is the days before Twiiter and Facebook for instant news. I would of collapsed on hearing that!!!

Great find PAFC1870 !! Much appreciated and I had a lump in my throat watching the footage.

(I went to the Dakota Building in New York and stood outside where he was gunned down in late 2008.....such a errie feeling :()
