Powderfinger have announced this morning that their next tour will be their final one:

A shame, but in all honesty their last 2 albums have been a bit ho hum.

You're a harsh man REB.

Internationalist, Odyssey #5 & Vulture Street were all pretty good albums IMO.

REB is always harsh on music that's not to his liking, like most of us to be honest, but I for one like Powderfinger and have enjoyed several if not more of their performances over the years.

The albums you mention, in order ( IMO ) :

Internationalist
Vulture Street
Odyssey #5

I think I've still got that tape you made me. It had RHCP Californication on one side and some Powderfinger on the other side. I could only sit through the first half of Californication so I would just listen to the first couple of tunes and then rewind it LOL.

REB

I tend to agree their stuff up until the last 5-6 years was great. Recent albims have been far from great

Odyssy #5 and Vulture Street are my favourites but the rest of their albums don't really excite me that much

Quality band. Sad to see them call it quits.

Odyssey #5 was a brilliant album.
One of my favourites of all time.

Think they have made the right decision, agree with most I think they have lost it and me in the last 2-3 years.

Hardly listen to their stuff anymore but will go to see them for old times sake

IMO Bernard Fanning had too much of an influence in the more recent stuff. It was alot like his solo album. Need to go back to their rocking roots from Double Allergic and Internationalist.

I'm a fan of Internationalist. Great album, while some of the music off their next album was fantastic also (These Days, My Kinda scene etc). Not a fan of their past few albums though.

Wonder if they will play any early favourites that have been missing in recent years

I reckon they will, guessing it will be a top show & a long one. Got my tickets today, looking forward to it!

Went to their concert at Memorial Drive a few years back on their Vulture Street tour, one of the best concerts I've been to.

Jet supporting them as well, a few people on this board will be fist pumping the air over that one.

Got my tickets.

Will be a great show, a celebration of all the albums hopefully.

Last saw them on the "across the great divide" tour with Silverchair, that was a fantastic night and dhopefully this will be too.
