RIP Malcolm McLaren

Sex Pistols manager and general raconteur died yesterday. Very sad - like Tony Wilson he spoke oodles of crap but was a genius turd-polisher as well as being incredibly entertaining and provocative. Loved his work.

Know matter what you thought of the guy his contribution to the world of music...and making it better... is undeniable. Managed the Pistols and The Dolls that's good enough for me. RIP you old scoundrel.

LL you might know better than I do - but in his 'solo' projects, what did he actually do? I mean, did he actually have any musical ability or was his talent, as I suspect, more in bringing in able people to help build his ideas? You hear him all over Duck Rock but stuff like Madam Butterfly, what did he contribute?
