Help With A Countdown

Postby Pag » Fri Apr 02, 2010 6:36 pm

Hey guys,

We've got an Aussie-themed show at our footy club coming up, and we're putting together a Hottest 100 Aussie Songs Of All Time Countdown for the night and we'd love some help compiling the list.

So, what are your 10 favourite Aussie songs of all time? Your votes will be included in the making of the countdown.

Being on This August Forum, I would be expected to cast a vote for GANGgajang's "Sounds Of Then" and a vote against Midnight Oil's "Beds Are Burning".... G'day PhilG (not PhilH), if you are still browsing here

Will post a more serious list later, if I can narrow down a list of top songs to 10.

I know how hard it would be to only pick 10 guys, we're trying to pick 100 and having a very hard time trying to narrow it down.

Are you counting out the bands that had their start in NZ, such as Dragon and Crowded House (admittedly i think both had Australian born band members).

Given the original Crowded House line-up is 2/3rds Australian (Seymour and Hester) I think it is fair to claim them as Australian especially when Neil Finn was residing in Australia when they were first formed and dd so for the first five years of the bands existence.
