Have you ever misheard a song's lyrics...in the way that Whoopi Goldberg does with the Rolling Stones in the film Jumping Jack Flash?

I've heard Empire State of Mind played on the radio quite a bit and I was convinced that instead of 'concrete jungle where dreams are made of' Alicia Keys was singing 'concrete jungle wet dreams and mayo' #-o

See if you think so too

Anyone else want to fess up to mishearing any lyrics???

I had thought it might be interesting if you'd managed to come up with your own examples...oh well so much for that idea

Until recently, someone I know thought that America had ridden through the desert on a horse with no mane.

When i was younger i was singing the song Gloria and when i should be singing "Gloria, G-L-O-R-I-A" i was singing "Gloria, seeing the one i am"

Another one i would sing was Princes Rasberry Beret, i thought he was singing "Last miricle wave"

Both times i sang this someone pulled me up and asked me to repeat! I then said nothing!

Along a very similar line, Ian, I thought it was "F*** the cats @ss" and thought it seemed a bit strange.

I'm sure I make up half the words to songs I sing along to at top volume. I was bopping along to the Stone Roses the other night, quite conscious of the fact that I was 'singing' complete gibberish to I Am the Resurrection. Didn't matter though. Made doing the dishes a whole lot faster :)

Surely we've all mistaken this song at least once.

For years I thought cold chisel was singing...

"The last train out of Sydney's almost gone"

Then one day it clicked that they were 'landing' in Hong Kong -

When I was in Year 8 we went on a school camp and for some reason one of the girls had brought a Natalie Imbruglia CD along, and they all insisted on singing along with 'Torn'. I didn't like that song then and I don't like it now and I didn't know all of the words, but because it was Year 8 and I was still getting used to high school I thought I'd better at least pretend to sing it. Bitches knew straight away I didn't know the words so they all stopped at once and there was me mumbling gibberish. In the end I had to be honest though and tell them that Natalie Imbruglia sucked.

Guilty as charged your honour. Although my missus, who's not an officianado on matters as such mentioned said I was 'taking the pi$$' when I said it was Skin Deep. Took me ages to convince her that it was Skin Deep and since has questioned whether I've somehow influenced all internet users to persuade them to believe that it's Skin Deep. "what does that mean" she keeps saying.... WHO CARES!!!!

Anyway, the two oft heard mislyrics of mine are "alex the seal" (our lips are sealed, the Go Go's) and "where's my asian friend" (what's my age again, Blink 182).
