Taylor Swift @ Entertainment Centre tonight

Postby Wedgie » Fri Feb 12, 2010 1:31 pm

Anyone else going to see this Grammy award winning beauty and biggest selling artist in the US over the last 18 months tonight?
I'm looking forward to it, will write a review on the weekend as long as I don't drink too much and remember it!

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Here I was thinking she was crap, then find out she won a Grammy? I stand corrected ;)

Enjoy though. I'm quite enjoying your little infatuation with young Taylor. Look forward to the review :)

Lucky it wasn't held on a school night, would have had to finish early if it was.

And of course, Emmy's are a true refelction of one's brilliance.

All thats aside, how was it Wedgie, was it like, cool?

Was fantastic, I give it 9/10, I was expecting about 6 or 7.
Only reason I didn't give it 10 were because she didn't play my favourite song Change!
Only other slight con was the video interludes (not my cup of tea) needed for the outfit changes and set changes and the time it took her to get from the stage at the back of the floor to the front as she was hugging so many fans!
It was a massive stage, 2 massive screens and and even more massive one in the middle above the stage, the highlight was easily Love Story.
If she hadn't won me before she won me even more as my favourite piece of classical music led into it.
Start the night with You Belong with Me and spent 3 songs singing on a smaller stage at the back of the floor.
I've never seen an artist that adores her fans so much and I've only seen such humility from one other performer.
Its hard to realise she only just turned 20 as she was such a seasoned performer.
Only thing that could stop many more grammys would be an acting career which wouldn't suprise me, her facial expressions and playing of the crowd was second to none.
Crowd was loudest I'd ever heard the Ent Centre and close to the largest, not a spare seat in the house.
Someone has to find a flaw to this girl, she just seems too nice as well as talented.
Play list (I might have missed one):
You Belong With me
Our Song
Teardrops on my guitar
Fearless
Forever and Always
Hey Stephen
Fifteen
Tim McGraw
White Horses
Love Story
The Way I loved you
You're not sorry
Picture to Burn
Encore:
Today was a fairytale
Should have said no

I can't wait for the DVD of this tour.

Took some pics but Iphone camera is crap so not sure how they'll come out.

Wouldn't suprise me if she did get one, very talented young lady who could easily become a good actor.

You're right there mate, probably the same crowd that was there when I went to see the Wiggles 7 years ago!
I was having a beer before it started and a lady about my age started to chat to me, she said "Im only here for my kids, I've never even heard of Taylor Swift".
I said "same here"

I've learnt a long time ago not to question my musical tastes as they're so far bizarrely spread its not funny. I just go with the flow these days. :D
Anyway, I saw the Village People in 1990 so its not like I can go downhill!

haha, last night I went to Fowlers for a metal gig, not my usual thing but took my 15 yo son and his mate, I did wear ear plugs but actually enjoyed 2 of the 4 bands  , Zac and his mate had a ball and Zac came home with home with phone numbers of 3 hoties, can't wipe the smile off his face.
