I tend to have trouble finding CDs that i want in shops and just wondering if there are any Australian websites that you can order CDs and clothing from that tend to have obscure bands. A bit like Smartpunk.com but in Australia...so im not having to work out the conversion...and sometimes they dont ship to Aus.

In previous threads I've mentioned CD Wow but they tend to be a bit more mainstream than what you're after, though sometimes you can be surprised. But just lately they've introduced a vinyl section which I've been raiding lately - it is hit and miss but sometimes it is so cheap it's ridiculous, with no postage on anything (which anyone who has tried to import vinyl would know, it can be very expensive). Last night I bought Teenage Fanclub 'Grand Prix' for 9.95 and Smashing Pumpkins 'Siamese Dream' for $15. The other week Fleet Foxes lp + EP was going for about $15. New xx album for under $20. You've got to check back all the time because prices seem to change all the time, and if you subscribe to their email service you get discount vouchers almost every day. Oh and they now have T-shirts too.

But Red Eye sounds like it might be more up your alley http://www.redeye.com.au?
Au Go Go in Melbourne used to be good too http://www.augogo.com
EDIT - don't think Au Go Go exists anymore? LL would know...

Missing Link http://www.missinglink.net.au/
Rockinghorse in Brissy used to be be great when I lived there, assume it still is: http://www.rockinghorse.net/

Yes Au Go Go has gone to the big CD shop in the sky (where there is more and more everyday as people continue to download).
Greville and Missing Link are recomended for hard to find and obscure stuff stuff as is Big Star in Adelaide. Wouldn't bother with Polyester personally.

Another reason I like CD Wow is they have a loyalty program - every 10 things you buy you get the average value free. I just got a $17 voucher :)

And ANOTHER reason I like them is that they pay you $2 to review anything on the site!

Any Shins fans out there? Today they have the last two Shins albums (vinyl) for 11.99 each, no freight!
PM for a $2 voucher code to make the deal even sweeter.

Love CD WOW

Yep that is definitely a must HH. Many sites like this now let you use PayPal which I would recommend if you're a bit unsure. Basically when you sign up to PayPal you do have to submit your credit card details but only once. From that point on you should never have to type in your credit card details again as long as you purchase goods via PayPal. It's also a handy way to handle transactions if you are selling rather than buying - though there can be a small fee for this. From experience they are pretty good at dealing with discrepancies (I once got scammed on an EBay deal and PayPal ended up refunding me).
