Just wondering if any other SA Footy people made it to see The Units, The Innocents and The Screaming Believers at The Gov last night? It was pretty full and the bands were great!

Would loved to have gone but couldn't get the $$$ together. Friends have been raving about how good The Screaming Believers were. That's no secret to me saw them 40+ times over the years - excellent band.

Yeah LL you missed a great gig by all three bands. The Screaming Believers have lost none of their old energy and talent - just like the old days. I don't think I saw them as many times as you but it must have been around 10 times I saw them back in the day. We were talking about where they used to play, and remembered the Tivoli and the Austral as two venues. Where did you see them?

I first saw them when they were The Shreds (this would be March/April 1981). They changed their name soon after to The Screaming Believers. I only ever saw them back at The Union Hotel in those very early days. I later saw them at the Uni Bar, Mile End Hotel, The Tiv and some place in North Adelaide I have completely forgotten the name of
I also happened to be at the Union the night they recorded their EP "Live at the Union Hotel"

I didn't see them that often in the late 80's but started seeing them again regularly in the early 90s. I'm not 100% sure but I have a feeling that the big "Anti" Grand Prix gig at the Tiv in 1993 may well have been the last time I saw them / they played. On the line up that night was The Clowns of Decadence, Iron Shieks, Raison Toast, Exploding White Mice, The Screaming Believers.

Was a great night. Especially catching up with heaps of old faces.
I got there a bit late, so i only caught The Screaming Believers, but still worth it.

I reakon the first ever pub gig I went to was The Screaming Believers, The Spikes & The Plague at The Union (early 80s)
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!
