I'm a sucker for a camping festival and this is the first big one I can recall being held in Adelaide (if you don't count the underground psy-trance ones they hold there). Unfortunately I'll be in Broken Hill for the Easter weekend, but it looks like they want to make this one an annual event, so hopefully it gets a good crowd.

Produced by Avalon Events of Adelaide, Monarto Zoo's Wild Africa will host the hottest talent roster of any rock festival in South Australia this year! The colossal world-class music, arts & campout festival, LIVE AT THE ZOO is the biggest weekend campout festival in the Festival State for 2009.

Easter weekend, LIVE AT THE ZOO will present the best international talent lineup in memorable history here Saturday and Sunday, 11-12 April, 2009 featuring 50 Indie, Alternative, Dance/Electro and Hip Hop artists performing on 3 stages.

Headliners on the way, the stellar list is expected to draw excited 18-30 yr. olds from every hamlet in South Australia, and is being promoted to every corner of Australia. Many other regional artists will perform on the Zebra Stage in the Togo Campgrounds, and in the All Nite Chimp Club, a continuous 54 hr. Dance Tent located in the Kalahari Camping Area starting just after midnight Saturday 11 April.

LIVE AT THE ZOO is planned as an annual event for the big Easter Holiday Weekend. Saturday and Sunday 11, 12 April, 2009. Weekend and Saturday Ticket holders are welcome to an advance camping day Friday 10 April. Gates open at 12 noon. Located in Monarto just 40 minutes east of Adelaide off the South Eastern Freeway- M1.

Cut Copy, Evermore, Bliss N Eso, Cog, Augie March, British India, End Of Fashion, Something With Numbers, Van She, Grafton Primary, Resin Dogs, The Hot Lies, Van She Tech, The Galvatrons, Tame Impala, Dirty Laundry, The Scientists Of Modern Music

Be good if it takes off like the Falls of old, where people go for the music and to chill out. Not little shits that run around saying "I'm so drunk".

Let's hope it does work.
Seen others try it in other country towns and not get the support.
Good line-up.
Would go myself but will be in Mildura for the weekend.

Like everyone else I really hope it takes off and is a success. Just reading what people have to say on here and while its only a coupe of people it does seem that people in general have commitments over Easter. If it can survive a few years then like the Oakbank races it will become a set date in peoples diary.

Did anyone from SA Footy actually attend. Would be interested to hear if the media are beating it up or if it really was that bad.

I know a few blokes that went from my footy club. It was a media beat up as the Promoter's wouldn't talk to them on the Friday so they wrote what they liked.

Yes it was disorganised but it was the first year of the event I am sure the other festivals like Falls, Splendour & Meredith etc had their issues when they first started up lets hope they bring in different people next year to get this event back on track
