Ron Asheton founding guitarist with seminal punk band The Stooges, and the man responsible for some of the greatest riffs in rock, was found dead beside a bottle of vodka from what seems to be a heart attack.

I'm so glad i got to see him in the Stooges at the BDO a few years back.

Thanks for what you gave Ron.

Sad to hear that one of the Dum Dum boys has passed on. Given the lifestyle, amazing it hadn't happened sooner.

At least it wasn't of a broken heart - his role in one of the most important rock bands in history has been acknowledged more in recent years.

Also saw the Stooges at the BDO a couple of years ago. I count myself lucky.
