It was 20 years ago today.....
Hysteria got a belated burst of sales in Australia (after all, the album was released in 1987) and I was a massive fan of it at the time. However the overproduced monster album has not aged well. I listened to it recently and thought 'why did I listen to this so many times during 1988?'. These days when I reach for a Def Leppard release it is inevitably
Pyromania.
The problem with Leppard is that instead of remaking Pyromania, they kept remaking
Hysteria (
Adrenlize is just terrible). But to repeat the leviathan that was
Hysteria is an understandable decision from a business point of view, but the bogans

missed out on what Leppard could have been if the drummer stayed in one piece and they didn't all tell us to 'get rocked'.
