You gotta love the Advertiser - even online. They mention in the article "the classic Angels line-up" - Doc, John and Rick Brewster, Chris Bailey and Buzz Bidstrup. And then show a film clip featuring Doc on bass (not Chris Bailey) and Charlie King on drums (not Buzz).

Perhaps Chris and Buzz were off somewhere rehearsing "Sounds Of Then"?

Talking about Chris Bailey (the other one) who saw him on Rockwiz the other night? Downright scary looking, even compared to how Doc Neeson looks these days. He's shed all of his 80s puppy fat and is gaunt and a bit spaced out and not quite as eloquent as he used to be. The only casualty from the 80s who looks scarier is possible James Freud from the Models at that Countdown spectacular

I saw the gig that Chris Bailey (and "The Saints") did the week he taped that ep of Rockwiz and it was BRILLIANT. The man still knows how to rock.
James Freud on the other hand shops at my local supoermarket and I see him from time to time. I think he's all plastic and dye these days

Yikes, if it's anything like that gig we all went to in the early 90's, I can feel a next-day-headache coming on already.

Hell Freezes Over Again, The Angels Reunite

by Paul Cashmere - April 17 2008

After more than a decade, one of the bitterest separations in Australian rock ever has been resolved. Doc Neeson will return to The Angels.

The classic line-up of Neeson on lead vocals with John Brewster (Rhythm Guitar, b/v), Rick Brewster (Lead guitar), Chris Bailey (Bass,) and Graham 'Buzz' Bidstrup (Drums) will headline the 30th Anniversary Golden Stave Foundation Charity Luncheon at the Hordern in Sydney on June 27th.

The Angels will then head out around the country for the Face to Face Anniversary tour.

To coincide with the reunion and tour, Albert Productions will re-issue a remastered edition of the classic 'Face To Face' album, which is also having a 30th Anniversary this year.

'Face To Face' featured The Angels classics 'Take A Long Line', 'Shadow Boxer', 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again', 'Coming Down', 'After The Rain' and 'Marseilles'.

In recent years, the band has been in a constant state of legal battles with lead singer Neeson who was suing them over the use of the name.

pfft, mere child.
Saw them as the Moonshine Jug & String Band. Performed at lunch time at our school.

Saw Chisel perform at that underground record shop in the mall (was it a mall then?) infront of about 20 people on a Saturday morning.

Saw the re-formed classic line up at last years Countdown Spectacular 2 show, were definitely one of the high lights of the night, played "long line", "no secrets" and "am i ever gunna see your face again" which went for about 15 minutes as Doc made his way thru the crowd.
