Is this a V Festival side show? I notice Duran Duran are coming as well, "Rle-fle-fle-fle-flex..."

Who went along and what did you think of it? The wrap and blog on the advertiser website doesn't sound too complimentary toward Billy ...

I'm not a huge QOTSA fan but they were 'ok'.

Pumpkins played a fairly varied setlist which didnt suit everybody there. Pretty subdued crowd really. A great night but the encore left us all a bit flat.

My sister went. She said people were leaving early - it was poor.
The Sunday Mail review also said this.

Apparently sound for QOTSA (who would have been my main reason for going) was poor.

Saved some good cash there I think.

I’m not an obsessed fan of the smashing pumpkins or anything like that, but the feedback/reviews, especially on the adelaidenow website have been rediculous and immature.

So they didn’t play one particular single, big deal  (they have about 20 singles you know). They didn’t play my favourite 4 or 5 songs but you cant please everybody.

Too many people went there with a preconceived idea of what the set list would be like and when the band started playing mellow or rarer songs the amount of talking and restlessness was embarrassing. If you’re going to pay 100 bucks to go and see a band that’s been around for 20 years and only know a handful of “hit radio songs” you deserve to be let down. Why would a band want to perform the same 15 songs every night?

I’m not saying it was the greatest gig I’ve been to because it wasn’t (the last 20 minutes lost steam but it's a small gripe), but people got what they paid for. 140 minutes of smashing pumpkins music from all eras with one cover song thrown in. As for the banter with the audience, if anybody took that seriously they don’t know much about the band.

:) :)

Saintal, you seem to be the voice of reason. What were your thoughts of the Queens, Ive heard the majority, Ive spoken to of people say that they were dissapointed by them.
