I don't think about Ike Turner.

Off the top of my head, I think about Marvin Gaye/George Clinton/Bootsy Collins/Bernie Worrell/James Brown/Sly/Isley Brothers/Ohio Players/Gap Band/Roger Troutman and a host of others...

Recorded what is widely regarded as the first Rock & Roll record "Rocket 88" back in 1952!

No doubt the guy was a major pioneer in the industry but personally my opinion is a "little tainted" by later "events".
