A bit macabre, but we all must have thought about this at some time or other (I know I have).
For me-
Planet Funk- Chase The Sun
Not only one of my all time fav songs, but the lyrics would be very fitting also- they are open to interpretation.

North Adelaide footy club theme and something that would make people laugh, perhaps Dancing Queen or the YMCA.
Throw in an Angels song too and I'd be happy, perhaps Mr Damage, perhaps a Neil Diamond song too.
As far as lyrics go I'd have to think further about that one.

no way, get f*&ked, f*&k off

perfect for a funeral, the words say it all

he he, very true, but I'd only want the Live version off Liveline and not the original, its a bit too lame and slow these days!

Nice to finally get a mature response to a mature subject.

I was deadly (pardon the pun) serious Punky.
I'd hate my funeral to be a morose serious affair.

Dancing Queen, YMCA or The North song. What's the difference LOL.
I'd have 'See you later alligator' just for laughs. The 'best' one was for a friend who was only 30 when he passed away: Zeppelin's 'Going to California'

Wild Horses - great song, one of the Stones' best.
Why don't you all get F****** is seriously 5hite. A song for shock value that might of worked back when it was realised but gets deleted from my media library whenever I add Living in the 70's to any workstation.

Absolute shock value and good fun - nothing more. Mind you it wasn't released on "Livin in the 70's" originally it was released on "Guilty until proven insane" (1978). Remembering that record stores were being charged with stocking Dead Kennedys "Too Drunk To ****" single and having stock confiscated as late as 1982 it was a fairly brave move to release it when they did in 1978.

Yes! Seconded. My wife was in tears when New Order played this on their last tour at The Forum. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.

That bit where Ian Curtis sings "People like you, find it easy..." turns me into a blubbering mess every time. It's all in the delivery.
I'm envious you went to the Forum show...I went to the Sydney & Adelaide BDOs that year JUST for New Order but didn't get to see one of their club shows.

Might be a bit too girly for you hard nuts but The Sundays do an absolutely stunning cover of that. Do yourself a favour.

There is a Light That Never Goes Out by the Smiths would be another winner - I'm all for making everyone feel as miserable as your life had been.

Then "Keep your eye on the Old Double Blue" would be appropriate
Reakon I'd pick "Morning" from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite. Or "This Is The Day" by The The.

As I am over 50 now, this needs some consideration
T. Albiononi - Adagio in G Minor - a mate of mine died in his early 40s about 10 years ago, had this at his funeral very moving. Most people would be familar with this piece as it was the background music to the end of "Galipoli"

God, I'm crying already. Beautiful piece of music.
