Wasn't planning on going, but had many mates that are and were thinking bout it.... but it being cut back so much and now down to one main stage, few of them selling off there tickets or not even bothering.... some even going either Gold Coast or Melbourne.

Plenty on the Internet. I think the bottom line is in the current environment it is just not worth coming to Adelaide and Perth is just too expensive. I doubt we will see a BDO in its old form ever again listening to him. I think we should all have grave concerns long term for Soundwave, Laneway and any other Festival that tours here.

Here is an interview with Ken West

The explanation I heard on the radio was the reduction from seven stages to four stages (and therefore the culling of acts) was to try and recapture the essence of original BDOs. Of course, it's bullshit.

Personally, I'm spewing I won't get to see Mariachi El Bronx (they got culled from Adelaide). Was going to be my first BDO for a few years, but now considering swooning with the hipsters at St Jerome's.

I thought Ken West spoke quite well on triple J, being pretty diplomatic but it's clearly a financial decision, and from what he said we will definately struggle to see a full BDO here again, bit of a shame.

I find it hard to believe that a council would give approval for an event and then change legislation in regards to noise after the approval. One of his arguements was that the new venue couldn't fit the stages in, so why was it considered as a venue? To save money.

Well all said and done i will still be going. been waiting 15 years to see Soundgarden. I have been to every BDO since 1997. its going to be a weird day, but still enough good bands to see and get ya money worth.

very disapointing as we normally go close to selling out each year. would not be suprised if it comes down to some off the bands asking for too much coin. we all no KAYNE is a GOLD DIGGER
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Spread the word on here if there is any truth.

I know a lot of people who managed to get free tickets so I'm not holding out much hope of this but I will charge down there if it's the case.

I've heard their have been a lot of free or cheap tickets around.

One mate even said he is getting a ticket for $130 at the gate by a re-seller. I'd say this is the BDO organisers way around lowering the price without copping flak from people who have forked out the $170.

Why has it died in the arse so hard this year? Tickets too expensive perhaps?

$100 - $120 is what it should be I reckon, I wouldn't pay anything over that.
